There has been so much divisiveness in the two weeks since the presidential election, but an Albuquerque business is going a step further by refusing to have any dealings with Donald Trump supporters.

Matthew Blanchfield runs 1st in SEO, an Albuquerque-based internet marketing company. He's making his case pretty clear in a blog post, writing “if you are a Republican, voted for Donald Trump or support Donald Trump, in any manner, you are not welcome at 1st in SEO and we ask you to leave our firm."

IIn an interview with KOB Tuesday, Blanchfield said he has a moral obligation to stand up for what he believes is right and against injustice

IIt is my firm belief that we elected a fascist as our next president,” he said.

Blanchfield does admit there are no real means to weed out those unwelcomed clients. He hopes they would come forward on their own and then get out.

He's certainly not worried about the loss of business. Blanchfield has no guess as to how many clients he might lose, but he said one has left so far.

“The expense financially to me is immaterial,” he said. “Morality, justice and doing what's correct far supersedes financial gain for me.”

Christians and take things out of context with slogans. Compassion is a trigger word. It triggers emotion. They use language to trick you and tug at heart strings.

Is compassion without thinking good? It's complex because people are complex.

Case in point, immigration. To make a complex idea simple, think of eggs. You have some cobra eggs mixed in with bird eggs. They look alike. Should you let in the cobra eggs too? They want to kill you and your children. Shouldn't you think long term?

The leftist politicians loves to use Bible versus, treat your neighbor as yourself. It's probably the only Bible verse they know. God also destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for immoral behavior. Why don't they ever talk about that? Why don't they ever take Bible verses in their full context?

There are many versus that warn against using your heart and not your head. Why don't they ever talk about that?

and last I heard, it is our constitutional right. The alt-right can do the same thing to the alt-left and do. So what's the problem. He's not forcing anyone to stop doing business with his company. I'm a moderate and also believe that with Freedom of Speech comes freedom of association and don't want to hang out with people whose views I morally oppose. Again, it works both ways.

What this guy said was he REFUSES to do business with anyone who doesn't hold the same opinions that he does. He has also decided that any employee at his company that doesn't agree with him can QUIT NOW OR BE FIRED if he finds out they don't share his warped values.

It's not a constitutional right to force employees to agree with him. It's not a constitutional right to ban businesses who don't agree with him. If that were the case, those businesses that don't agree with the transgender and/or LGBT communities can ban doing business with them...but last I heard, the SCOTUS ruled they couldn't do it. Unless you want "your cake and eat it too?" IMHO, you just want "some" freedm of speech for one group, but not the other.

Either way, he can be dangerous. Censorship is NOT part of this country or the Constitution; yet, he believes in censhorship.

A boss can be idiotic enough to ask an employee who they supported or voted for, but we have no obligation to tell anyone that information. Of course I don't want freedom of speech for one group and not the other. I uphold your right to your views, so is that not giving the alt-right their freedom of speech? I'm not even a liberal. cannot discriminate on the basis of religion, race, gender, or sexual orientation and that has been upheld by the SCOTUS; BUT there is no law that requires anyone to do business with someone with a different political ideology. I haven't heard of that case being argued in the Supreme Court as of yet. Have you?

where I said you cannot discriminate again people based on religion, race, gender, or sexual orientation? Personally, I have no problem abiding by this law, as I see all people as equal with equal rights. It is not against the law to refuse to associate with people with different political views, but it is against the law to fire someone for that. If this guy fires any employees, they sure do have a right to sue for unjust termination. It would be a civil suit, and the terminee would have to prove the firing was done for this reason, which would be hard to do but possible.

someone in line at a bakery, Starbucks, or the supermarket would get refused service because of their political affiliation. I don't know anyone who wears a sticker proclaiming their party affiliation, and we are not a protected class anyway. I'm personally not okay with refusing service to people of different political parties. Apparently, this guy runs a business with clients, not customers, and if he doesn't want to do business with them because of their party affiliation, that's not against the law. It's kind of rude, but being rude isn't against the law, is it?
