One thing they should have put in the cartoon was about the huge bonuses the execs will get with the increase in our premiums.

What they are trying to shove down our throats in this health care bill is not going to make things better. More waits, more denials, higher premiums, but worse health care, more beurocrats involved in something they have no knowledge of.

What is very very sad and all Americans will suffer (except of course congress, lawyers, and union members (so far)) is if they are able to get away with the criminal act of pushing this through whether or not they have the votes.

It will be a said day for all Americans who need good health care and will be the downfall of our political system as they will not have listened to the people they are supposed to be representing and this will show that they are self serving and care about nobody but themselves.
I agree - BillieRubin

Health care reform is needed, but not like this. There is a reason why health insurance companies aren't concerned that this will hurt their bottom line and that's because they know it won't.

The starting point needs to be tort reform.

"More waits, more denials, higher premiums, but worse health care, more beurocrats involved in something they have no knowledge of."

BTW, reconciliation is not illegal. The original legislation was signed into law in 1974. It was first used in 1981 under Reagan. Clinton's Congress attempted to use it on measures that the president ultimately vetoed. Bush used it to get three major tax cuts for the rich.

Hopefully, it is getting cranked up again, this time as an end game to the House, Senate and Obama health care plan proposals that will be subjected to amendment as they are scrutinized and ultimately crafted into a final piece of legislation. Because the measure has not even been finalized or passed, your negativity and judgment calls are premature, unless of course you are willing to come up with some specifics to back up those bogus claims of yours.
What I wrote is - I beg to differ

What has been talked about by the people who are working on the health care bill. It's on the internet on both political parties websites, and it has been in the news. For you to say it's bogus shows you are out of touch with what is going on. Have you not been listening to the news? And before you jump the guns and assume, I am not talking about Fox. You probably have not heard the news lately as BSNBC does not present the news, only what they want to dumb down America with (you know all those prison lock up shows, and Olberman's show, etc). Ya might want to try local news from your area. And read. Read everything you can. There are many independent sites to get the news. If you did you would know what is going on.

We know what they are trying to shove down our throats. Anyone with half a brain can see what they are doing. Just listen to Pelosi, Obama and other politicians in congress talk about the health care plan.

It's a fact that they are raising premiums. It's a fact they are trying to force every single person to purchase these outrageously expensive health care plans, whether or not they want them. Sorry, but that is unconstitutional. What other goods or services are they going to force me to buy that I do not need or want. Oh and what next, they'll tax us because they have to make sure that everyone in Haiti has health insurance too or Mexico. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that. After all us greedy Americans...how dare we want to live free and make our own decisions as to how we want to live and what we want or don't want to buy.

Hopefully the American people have spoken and I hope we have spoken loud enough. America does NOT want this scam of a plan they are trying to shove down our throats. But you know what. They know we don't want it and they don't care. It's a way for them to be getting more of our tax money. Then of course because of the efficiency (which equals 0) of the government I'm sure they'll take that money and go and stick it in social security or something like that, or probably even their own retirement accounts. Or maybe the CEOs of the companies supporting this will get kickbacks and nice big bonuses from our tax money. The health insurance companies will continue to get rich, as will congress. But hey...this doesn't affect them. They have the best health care (which you can see they will not allow us to join). And on top of that certain groups are exempt from it (politician, unions, laywers, and even the Amish, among others). No instead we'll all be paying for it.

What they are proposing (read about it yourself) is not good for the country and certainly not good for Americans. Fact is our premiums will go up. Fact is the quality of our health care will suffer. The fact is we will have longer waits. Fact is certain test or procedures or prescription drugs we need will be in the hands of some bureaucrat to decide whether or not we get the services we need. Not our doctors. Do your own research.

Negativity? More like anger. For them trying to push through a bill nobody wants and has said NO to. Anger that the people who are suppose to represent us are not listening to us. If you want to pay more money to insure John, Jane, Rick, Rosie, Jose, Joe, Jill, etc then by all means...send in your money. Glad you are rich enough to pay for them all. I am not. I am healthy. I pay for myself when I do have to go and I don't expect anyone else to pay for me.

Funny how you'll tout about what the health care plan is about, but when the truth comes out and its something you don't agree with you'll say it hasn't come out yet. Can't have it both ways here.

Just because your are unwilling to see the truth of what they are trying to enslave us in shows you haven't been listening to what's going on. These are the problems that America is facing and why they have been upset over the information that has come out.

This bill they are trying so desperately to shove through without enough votes is not good. Period.

We need tort reform. We need to be able to pick health insurance policies across state lines. There are many other ways to have good health insurance. What they are scheming is not good.
On websites and in the news not specific to your claims. Please give - links that support bogus claims....

Here they are again, lest you forget: "More waits, more denials, higher premiums, but worse health care, more beurocrats involved in something they have no knowledge of."

How does the current unfinished version of HCR create those scenarios? Keep in mind that Obama's plan gives the largest middle class tax cut for medical care in history (to help reduce premium costs), eliminates pre-existing conditions denials, caps on total coverage and reduction in coverage or cancellation during illness. It provides wider consumer choice through the health exchange, low-income subsidies, hardship waivers, tax credits for small businesses, no copayments or deductibles for preventative care, lowers cost of health care for seniors, and extends Medicare. It restricts health insurers profits and salaires. It is paid for and reduces the deficit.

How is this going to leave us worse off than status quo, and please narrow you sources down from the net and news for the sake of credibility.
Do your own research. - I beg to differ
[ In Reply To ..]
You go look up the democrats website, and you go look up the republicans website (which I know you won't even look at that), there are several websites you can go to that discuss this. I've read things on CNN and Huffington Post too, and other websites. You really do need to do your own research. You go look up what is in (or they are proposing to put in) the health care bill. I am not going to provide you with all the links so you can say they are not credible all because you don't want to hear it.

And excuse me....the middle class is facing the largest tax hike since Clinton was in office. He can say anything he wants but his actions have proved otherwise. I don't understand why when we have to pay more in taxes you seem to think it's a tax cut. When you pay more in taxes that is not a tax cut! I learned the basics of math in grammar school. But then again you might be using the Timothy F. Geithner calculator.

Bogus claims are those of largest middle class tax cut for medical care, caps on total coverage, reduction in coverage, wider consumer choice, etc. Sounds like a pipe dream to me. And he certainly knows what to say to please everyone. Sorry...not buying it.

By the way...this new health care bill they are trying to cram down our throats while the country is saying no....the insurance companies still continue to get rich off the backs of the American taxpayers.

How about you provide a link that shows all these pipe dreams you claim are going to be in there.
Translation: No liks to support bogus claims. - A new bogus claim has surfaced.
[ In Reply To ..]
Please direct us to some piece of legislation or link to some other irrefutable source that shows where middle class is (a) paying more tax now, and (b) will be receiving a huge tax increase.

It's okay if you can't, because there is no truth to these statements, just more hype, hype, hype.
I differ... - Lisa

Well, think of all the millions of people now who don't have insurance, guess their wait is long or never. It makes me sick everytime I see someone doing a fundraiser for a friend, kid, family member to raise enough money for a downpayment on a heart transplant or some other type of surgery that no one wants to pay for. THIS IS A CRIME. The only people who are winning now is health insurance companies and drug companies, we the people need our own high paid lobbyist.
What they are trying to cram through will not solve that - I beg to differ
[ In Reply To ..]
Funny....I pay almost $500 a month in health care premiums and I still don't have insurance. Everything is out of pocket, and when I do use it they will cancel me out.

This insurance scheme they are trying to cram through is not going to solve what you wrote about. Those people you spoke about are not going to get free heart transplant or other surgery. They are still going to have to pay.

The health insurance companies are not whining about this as they will continue on as usual. In fact the second link is that Health insurers will benefit from this health care plan. There are more articles but those are only two.

"raise enough money for a downpayment on a heart transplant or some other type of surgery that no one wants to pay for"

As if this new health care bill is going to solve this and they'll get free heart transplant.

I don't think so. Lets come to our senses here. The people are still going to have to pay. This health care bill no matter how good you think it could be is not going to give anyone free health care.
No, she didn't. She was talking about insurance companies refusing to pay. (nm) - Nikki
