BC survivor of 11 years - SM

Posted: Nov 11th, 2017 - 1:29 pm In Reply to: Is your BC stage IV? About SSDI - mine is

I was early stage, low grade, did not take chemo, received radiation to site through Mammosite implant. I spent a lot of time on BC forum and watched dying patients attempt to get on SSDI then; it appears to have changed if what you say is true.

I believe radiation is what is causing a great deal of my fatigue and brain fog. I took a med called Provigil while undergoing this grueling radiation therapy and sent my slides and films to 3 different places (John Hopkins and lab for detailed analysis of cells) for opinions as oncologists wanted me to have chemo, but I had enough knowledge to know my cells were not aggressive. Incidentally, I had mammograms from age 26 and at 46, year after starting HRT therapy, developed this tumor. It began shrinking on sequential MRIs as soon as I stopped HRT and was described as "practically indolent." Doctors were amazed.

HRT was me energy and am actually thinking of taking this again to get packed and out of Calif. Such a chance to take but my fatigue is causing a complacency which I cannot afford to give into. Biggest problem I have is no immediate family and those of you who do, I hope you realize it is your safety net at times like this (loving family).

Best wishes. Got going on my acct after tweaking IE and now there is no work as I sit here trying to think of a solution to my delimma. I think inhouse staff came to life after they realized outside MTSO is on board.

Thank you.
