I took early SS, couldn't make it, had to go back part-time. I was an IC for 2 years, taxes killed me, and, fortunately, now I'm an employee part-time. I'm barely scraping by but I'm keeping my house and paying the bills and can actually afford groceries as long as I'm working. With only SS, I had to get "welfare," they gave me $30/mo for groceries and otherwise were of no help, but it was better than nothing. Since you realize you have the wrong computer, why not sell or trade it and get another one that's 32-bit? Craig's list might be of some help in that regard. Coming back from being behind on everything will be really tough so have you looked into bankruptcy? I did that too and, fortunately, in my state, they let you keep your house and vehicle and didn't have to pay anybody back. It saved me. Who cares what your neighbor has or doesn't have, don't let that crap eat away at you. I have no family, no friends, no church to try to get help from so I sympathize with your plight. It sucks. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
