It is me again. You may remember, she lost her purse quite some time ago now, and you-all prayed and it was found quickly. She does have a diagnosis of Alzheimer's, and hubby and I have moved from one coast to the other to be with her. She is still quite functional, very independent, maintains her own bank account, drives her own car, etc. etc. etc. BUT, she loses her purse often! We think she is hiding it because she is getting paranoid that someone may be stealing from her. When it turns up missing, we all perform a search and it is usually found somewhere in her bedroom or in a closet or in a kitchen cupboard or in a tiny space between her bed and dresser; I am good at finding most of the hiding places by now. The latest, though: Her wallet is missing from her purse!!!!! We have had to take her various places to get a duplicate driver's license and different ID-type cards. She has gone to the dollar store to purchase 2 different replacement wallets, and at this time both are missing. Wallets are far more difficult to find and it takes longer for them to turn up, but they eventually do. She is so in denial about her diagnosis. Anyway, prayers please. Fortunately, she keeps her checkbooks in the purse and not the wallet, so she does have access to her money. I guess if we do reconstruct all of her ID cards again, we need to have extra ones made for us to lock away for "emergencies." Thanks for listening.
PS. Hubby ordered a "key finder" device that beeps if one whistles, thinking this would be an easy solution. MIL would have no part of that. She wanted no one to be able to easily find her purse. So there goes that idea!!!
