If Trump is what the Republican people want, as indicated by him being #2 in the polls, it is a sad state of affairs and one that the Republican party may very well not recover from during the election process. He is, in effect, putting out a call to the hatred in the Republican party and giving it the green light for the people to express their hatred also. I don't think he will encourage more to join this way of thinking, they are already out there, but he is coalescing a good opposition, and many who have not been previously involved will step up to stop this craziness.
He is highlighting the negative aspects and the other Republican candidates are being forced to answer to it, thus dirtying themselves in the process.
Most would agree that Trump does not stand a real chance of becoming the Republican candidate, but they also agree that he is and will leave a path of destruction within the Republican position. He is solidifying opposition to the Republican party, this week with the Hispanic vote, who is next?
I understand that Nascar has pulled their end of year celebration from the Trump-held convention. Multiple businesses are abandoning him, or anxiously running away from him.
Frequently companies endorse candidates, but usually don't purposesly disassociate themselves.
Republicans may be frustrated with some individual policies and embrace his brashness, but in the end this will be much more destructive than constructive in building a base and obtaining the gold ring in the end. He is like a troll of the worst kind---and, as he has stated, he doesn't need to be paid.
