Trump charity corruption

"Eric Trump funneled hudnred of thousands of dollars intended for child cancer research  into the Trump family business, according to a Forbes investigation this week -"

Please note that this is not a NYT investigation or CNN or the WAPO, it is Forbes, a conservative business publication.

Draw your own conclusions.

It's easier to reason on this if you leave the Trump family out of it. You know, personal bias...

Here's how it works:
* Someone holds a fundraiser for child cancer research at a golf course.
* They raise money for the fund by charging for the event, which involves use of the golf course.
* Part of the expenses for the event necessarily involve paying for the rented golf course.

It doesn't matter that "a Trump" held the event on "a Trump" golf course and therefore paid "a Trump" for the use of the golf course.

Does it make sense that a Trump would rent someone else's golf course for a Trump charity event? I don't think so. A Trump could probably offer the use of the venue at cost, but if they go somewhere else they'd have to spend more more money and thus give less to the cancer research fund.

But let's go down that road too:
A Trump held an event on an Putin-owned golf course and therefore paid Putin for the use of the golf course.

Is that wrong? Is it bribery? Of course this is bribery! Why would Trump pay Putin to use Putin's golf course, when Trump has perfectly usable golf courses of his own?

There may still be something wrong here, but you're going to need to provide a lot more information than you have.

Here's the kind of info I'm talking about:
* How many people used the golf course?
* What do people normally pay to rent that golf course?
* How much did other charity events of a similar size pay for similar services?

See how that works? You don't have to be triggered by everything a Trump does. But if you want to be triggered, and you want others to trigger with you, at least try a little harder to back it up.

Some are too focused on hate and just pounce on the first bit of fake news they find. Then they post it with such glee thinking they've gotcha when, in fact, it got them. LOL.

You'll make excuses for anything they do, won't you? - old and burned out

Eric Trump has told reporters that he used the courses for free, but Forbes reported that the foundation used donations to pay for sizable fees charged by the Trump Organization.

If this was so open and above-board, why did he have to lie about it? The whole family is scum with the scum-in-chief in the White House.

We're not talking about Obama here. Glad we finally have an adult in the WH - He is succeeding in business, he (the country)

whoever you are, is accuse people of hate and do not discuss the gross incompetence since Trump has taken office (hundreds of important government jobs still not filled), allowing coal mines to pollute streams, removing regulations on the financial industry which will undoubtedly lead to another 2008, removing regulations in the food industry which will undoubtedly lead to more food-borne illnesses - yes, I am no Trump fan and I do hate what he is doing.

Is spread hate and lies about him. I'm not the person you responded to, but you are wrongly accusing the President of something that is not true. We don't discuss the gross incompetence because there is none:

His biggest 3 accomplishments have been 1. Filling a vacant supreme court seat, 2. Withdrawing from the TPP
3. Dismantling various Obama-era regulations.

I also forgot pulling out of the Paris accord. That is a HUGE victory for our country. Some others.

GETTING GOVERNMENT OUT OF THE WAY: President Donald J. Trump has done more to stop the Government from interfering in the lives of Americans in his first 100 days than any other President in history.

TAKING EXECUTIVE ACTION: In office, President Trump has accomplished more in his first 100 days than any other President since Franklin Roosevelt.

A SLEW OF LEGISLATION SIGNED: Despite historic Democrat obstructionism, President Trump has worked with Congress to pass more legislation in his first 100 days than any President since Truman.

Those are all SUCCESSES

As for Trump, he has had some successes, topped by winning Senate confirmation for Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. He also has engineered what his followers consider important changes such as his tough rhetoric in foreign affairs and more than 40 executive orders, actions and memoranda to reverse the policies of his Democratic predecessor Barack Obama on regulation and other matters.

Other presidents before him like Lincoln, Truman, and Kennedy had inherited crisis' when they became president and so President Trump has too. Just like his predecessors, he will succeed and the country will repair.

https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2017/04/25/president-trumps-100-days-historic-accomplishments

https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2017-04-27/donald-trumps-first-100-days-as-president-setbacks-and-successes

There are too many successes to count, but if you would like me to I will.

But we also must remember, he has only been in for 5 months. He cannot do everything overnight. We are already seeing jobs come back. You do realize there are more people working than just "government jobs". If that is all you are focusing on then you are doing the people of the country a disservice because people who were not working due to the failed Obama years and democrat policies, now have jobs. Now have health care. There are so many good things. I know you don't want it to be true, but the fact is it is.

Coal is a good source of energy - It is the cheapest source of energy. It is a stable source of energy. It provides many jobs. American made - we do not need to import it from other countries. It can be mined and burned with little environmental impact.

http://www.coaleducation.org/q&a/10_reasons_why_coal.htm

"Another 2008" has been in the making way way way before President Trump was elected. If we do have another one it will be the democrats fault.

I am a Trump fan and I like the good things he is doing to fix the economy, get us back on the right track, create more jobs for people out of work, better health insurance for people without insurance or paying too much. He is giving our country hope and finally changed "hope" from the dirty word Obama made it out to be.

You have your opinions and we have ours.
I think the same as you whenever I see those - posts. Pitiful to be so consumed with hatred

and then bring it to this board for the world to see that pitiful expression of their hate. Guess there is nothing else going on in their lives, and this board is all they have.

Now you're getting somewhere!

He told reporters he used the golf course for free. What exactly does that mean? Were other locations involved that weren't free?

Did he not pay the people working the event? They must have served food, was that free too? Drinks? How many people attended?

Why would you automatically assume that he lied when he said the use of the golf course was free? Can you really not see any possible way that the use of the course is free, but there are still costs associated with the event?

You're only hurting your own anti-Trump agenda. The media keeps publishing stuff like this and you keep repeating it, even though it's so easy to poke holes into. When a real scandal comes around, no one will believe it. Trump will be able to cite all these fake outrage stories as proof it's just another chicken little story.

Sounds like you with Obama - Look in the mirror

It never fails. Whether Republican or Democrat, when someone is presented with ACTUAL FACTS that go against their beliefs that they have developed over years and years, it affects their ability to think intelligently/rationally as evidenced by this very thread. Grow up people. Try to have an intelligent conversation that involves reasoning, a lot less name calling, and opinions that can be stated in intelligible words.

It's good to see there are people who have the basic capacity to think clearly. Your post makes such sense to a bunch of nonsense trying to grasp at straws at anything. What's next for them? I'm waiting to hear them complain that "a Trump" used 3 napkins at a restaurant rather than 2.
