I can just imagine the disappointment on some kid’s face when the Easter Bunny hands him a carrot instead of chocolate. Not everything has to be turned into an educational seminar. You know how to get kids not to care about healthy eating habits and exercising regularly? Jam it down their throats on a candy-holiday.

actually know what you mean, OP. Leaving religion out of this discussion entirely, kids do need food this day too, breakfast, lunch, dinner. Their little tummies really, really shouldn't be filled with nothing but candy, which you know, so...why the attitude about their hostess feeding them food?

I really do not think the OP was saying that their "little tummies" were only being fed candy and I really do not think she was referring to it as a candy holiday only. The post about a right wing rag is really nasty and rude. Lighten up people. Maybe you ate too much chocolate yesterday instead of carrots.
