Surprise: Goldman Sachs to pay out $5 billion more in bonuses for first three months of 2010

As if to put the icing on the cake, the investment bank Goldman Sachs is set to shell out another $5 billion in bonuses to employees.

What's more, the bonuses are expected to cover the employees' work for just the first three months of the year, according to the UK Sunday Times.

According to the report, bankers will receive remuneration of about $170,000 per person for the firm's 32,500 employees. Some traders are set to receive millions.

Earlier this year, Goldman's "junior" bankers were told they'd begin receiving salaries that were double their previous takes.

"It's made me rethink everything," a Goldman Sachs employee, "sipping champagne," told the site. "I like the new structure even better. My monthly take home just went way up."

Yeah, I thought there was a limit as to how much a corporation - can buy the person who will be president

I remember reading that people were in an uproar when someone donated a hundred thousand dollars to the McCain/Palin campaign (I was one of them in the uproar stating they were trying to buy them), but they sure were okay with Goldman Sachs buying Obama at a nice price of one Million dollars. (I didn't know that until I read it yesterday).

I thought there was a law that a company couldn't donate such a large amount and buy whoever they want in. But I guess everyone was okay because they bought Obama.

And gee....looked what Obama did for them. Sweeeet!

That's the problem..... - sm

The post yesterday going after the GOP blocking Obama's SUDDEN regulations of Goldman Sachs and the like....what's that about?

Goldman Sachs and other big corporations have padded Obama's pocket for years and padded his campaign BIG TIME! So, all that gibberish about GOP is just that.

Deals will be made.... Obama will make them to his benefit when back in the private sector. Nothing good ever comes of government being in bed with big corporations and he is in the middle of the sack!

He's okay with underhanded dealings as long as they benefit him but he's not the only one. Of course, he is the ONLY one who had all the LARGE amounts of campaign contributions coming through from out of the country....funny how the media got hush hush on this. They were being funneled through credit cards with names like Donald Duck and Goofy on them in small amounts, but they started adding up to millions..... a lot from middle eastern countries...go figure...no shocker there! But since the originators of those donations could not be pin pointed, just the nations funneling them through the U.S., so as to make them look legitimate, no one pursued it because no one was pursuing anything that had to do with Obama. It's a shame.......

Enough corruption up there for both sides.... no one holding their feet to the fire...that's the problem.

Prediction: Not An October Surprise, But A November Surprise.Sep 09, 2016
My analysis showed Trump ahead by 3 points until the last week and now show 7 points. The "traditional" polling methods are not valid in this election and a lot of people are going to be gobsmacked. Big Banks Profits/bonuses DownJan 18, 2012
As you know, there has been a "move your money" movement and the OWS occupation of Wall Street.  Big banks, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan have recently reported a big drop in profits.  The smaller regional banks are doing okay.  (Yes, there are some like Citibank where things are getting better, but they really had no other direction to go as they had already bottomed out).  I just want to congratulate the 99% for making a difference on Wall Street and in Wisconsin.& ...

Steele: GOP 'screwed Up' After Reagan, Won't Win In 2010Jan 06, 2010
By David Edwards and Daniel TencerTuesday, January 5th, 2010 -- 12:46 pm Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele apparently thinks the best way to ring in the New Year is to disappoint his followers. In a TV interview Monday, Steele said the party won't be regaining control of Congress in the mid-term elections this year. But they exaggerate. The law — the bulk of which has yet to be implemented — has caused only about a 1 percent to 3 percent increase in premiums, according to several independent experts. The rest of the 9 percent rise is due ...
