Peres gives Obama Medal of Distinction

The Medal of Distinction is Israel's highest medal of honor.

"Peres prefaced his address prior to conferring the medal on Obama, with the word "Bravo!" signifying his approval of the way in which Obama had spoken to Israel's young peopleearlier in the day.

The award, he said, "speaks to your tireless work to make Israel strong and to make peace possible. Your presidency has given the closest ties between Israel and the United States a new height, a sense of intimacy, a vision for the future."

Diplomatic and military bonds between the two countries have reached an unprecedented level, said Peres."

"Israel" and not "Palestine" speaks to the strategic importance of Israel and the relative powerlessness of the displaced Palestinian people.

DH's Jewish, but I'm for all the decent people there, not any one group. Those who bear malice toward others, regardless of what label they wear, should go fall on their heads. Religion no excuse at all.

President Obama said about EACH group having their own homeland.

That's pretty hard to do when Israel keeps stealing Palestinian land.

Israel is no angel and should be held accountable for their actions instead of always up on a pedestal.

Yet, we keep giving them large sums of money and weapons while the Congress wants to take away my Medicare and Social Security (to give to the rich) when that was MY money that I paid for the 40 years that I worked.

But, no, we will keep giving tons of money to Israel while America becomes a caste system, with only the very, very rich and the very, very poor. And it seems like they want to weed out the very, very poor since they have no need for us, and America will turn into a third world country run by the military.

Remember Donald Trump's phony consideration as a presidential candidate? They literally talked about him for weeks--for lack of anyone else; then Newt, whose background is too dirty to qualify for a job as a security guard; then that silly buffoon whose defining characteristic, for me anyway, was his powerful contempt for women? All women. Just remembered his name--Herman Cain. They and various unelectable others got weeks of pretend consideration on TV and radio before most of them became literally less than even footnotes to history.
