New Dem VP pick

Posted: Aug 17, 2012

With the news today that Biden is "benched" from the campaign trail and Hillary declined to run for VP, I wonder who's in the running to replace Biden, should it come to that. I heard that the president has approx. 3 weeks to decide, if I'm correct, afer which no changes can be made on the ballot. Maybe he will be loyal to Biden after all. ;

Since Hill declined, I keep hearing Joe is still it. - Trigger Happy

I guess the question would be...who would democrats want the VP to be. Would they still want Joe or is there someone else they'd rather have play second fiddle to Obama? I'm sure Obama's butt cheeks clinch when he knows Joe is gonna speak somewhere though. lol

All our butt cheeks clench, not just Obama's...lol. However, I really like Biden and would actually prefer him with Obama. I would rather save Hillary for 2016 and keep her out of the mud for now.

ditto the collective butt cheek clench - bootstraps

I think it would be a mistake to switch out the VP at this point.

Biden reminds me of the little girl with a curl in the middle of her forehead, when she's good, she's very good... but when she is bad... well ya'll know the rest.

But you know what? I respect the fact that Obama embraced and included many of his primary adversaries after he was nominated and elected. They competed, but stood united.

I like Biden too, very much.

I thought I heard Hillary say she's out after this term for everything. That girl could use a rest! I think she has the record for SoS countries visited.

I think that is Hillary's plan - Trigger Happy

She is just waiting for her turn to run for pres in '16. I don't agree with Biden, but there is something about him that you can't help but like....even though he says some of the dumbest things. He has an onery smile....I like it. ;)

Wow. If the GOP is so giddy with - this much excitement

they should just hold their breath for 3 weeks and wait for nothing to happen.

After VP Biden was sent to the time-out corner for telling the unvarnished truth, while his dunce-capped conehead opponents remained behind to bask in the spotlight, doubling down on palatable lie after lie, debunked rumors abound that a replacement is in the works. That the main source of such rumors is Fixed News’s political gossip maven and burned-out star player, Sarah Palin, is so par for the course. Despite Obama’s explicit contradictory denial, naysayers, desperate to take the heat off their own floundering VP’s failure-to-launch, insist on going there anyway.

The GOP’s efforts to sow divisions between the ticket-mates and to psych out Biden going into the VP debates, are blind to all the plus-column checklist criteria he met in 2008, that have not changed. I will mention only two. Biden did not, does not and will never overshadow his running mate, certainly never to the extent that is, and will continue to be, the case for the Ryan/What’s-his-name? ticket. Smokin’ Joe’s foreign affairs expertise could not be put to better use when going up against the identical goose-egg twins he will be assailing when it comes time to debate.

The presumption that the Obama camp is as desperate as the nincompoops “in charge” of their candidates’ pitiful performances, since their respective heir apparent/VEEP announcement day ones, is laughable. There is no baseless flap, falsehood, fabled myth or outright lie they are not willing to throw down in an effort to extend MORE time for Team Romney to figure out how to steer the conversation back onto more fertile grounds, while wallowing around in the quicksand of their “no details allowed” #1 taboo.

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton, who has already demonstrated she is quite capable of seizing her party’s 2016 nomination, is planning a time-out of her own. She’ll be sheltering in place after Obama and Biden are sworn in for their second terms, like a hurricane stalled in warm and welcoming Gulf of Mexico waters, gathering strength, with all the conditions favorable for the development of a Saffir-Simpson Category 5 superstorm.

The GOP would be much better served if their campaign geniuses would spend less time focusing on rumors and myth, and more time addressing what they obviously have ignored since 2008. Their leadership and platform deficits, and the Mariana Trench the party dug with its bare hands that divides its bewildered fractious factions, is leaving millions of former supporters adrift in a limited number of lifeboats without preservers, soon to be lost at sea forever, in their very own self-made Bermuda’s Triangle, while Hurricane Hillary looms on a dark and ominous horizon.

Utterly amazing.

Democrats are touting Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), Hillary Clinton’s new running mate, as a pro-Israel voice in Congress.
