I've been noticing on a few different social media sites that a dialogue has begun. I've read conversations in which people are beginning to understand opposite sides. White people and black people are sharing their views, experiences, and they're coming together to understand each other. Granted, I'm only seeing this on a few sites and I'm praying it's the beginnning of a coming together, of an understanding that most people just want to make it through their lives without drama. I fully believe we're all capable of relating to one another. Sure, legislature needs to change. Black people have a legitimate complaint and we all need to understand this. At the same time, black people need to understand that the average white person is not racist and is just trying to live his/her life, same as them and in no way trying to "keep them down." Maybe I'm niave, but I have hope we can come together in understanding and true unity.
