Leaked Cables from Israel's spy agency show Netanyahu lied in speech to the United Nations.

It has recently come to light that Benjamin Netanyahu lied in a speech he gave to the United Nations. In 2012, Netanyahu gave a speech to the U.N. about the state of Iran’s nuclear weapons program. A recently leaked spy cable from Mossad, Israel’s spy agency reveals that Iran was “not performing the activity necessary to produce weapons”. The cable was included with hundreds of secret documents leaked to the media. The leaked documents come from multiple spy agencies including, Mossad, Britain’s MI6, the CIA, and many more agencies from all over the world. This did not stop Netanyahu from going in front of the U.N., where he dramatically claimed that Iran was well on their way to having an operational nuclear weapon. Netanyahu told the U.N.: “By next spring, at most by next summer, at current enrichment rates, they will have finished the medium enrichment and move on to the final stage. From there, it’s only a few months, possibly a few weeks before they get enough enriched uranium for the first bomb.” He said this while he held a chart presented as a cartoon bomb, which he used to demonstrate his lie about Iran’s nuclear program. In an interview with Foreign Policy, shortly after the speech, the then-current United States Defense secretary, Leon Panetta, implied that Netanyahu was trying to put the United States into a corner regarding Iran. He claimed that Israel and the United States have the same intelligence regarding Iran’s nuclear weapon program. Which we now know is non-existent in comparison to the extravagant claims Netanyahu has made. In the interview Panetta said: “The fact is, look, presidents of the United States, prime ministers of Israel or any other country — leaders of these countries don’t have, you know, a bunch of little red lines that determine their decisions. What they have are facts that are presented to them about what a country is up to, and then they weigh what kind of action has to be taken in order to deal with that situation. I mean, that’s the real world. Red lines are kind of political arguments that are used to try to put people in a corner.” This revelation comes just before Netanyahu is supposed to address congress on the state of Iran’s nuclear weapons capability. Which is an act that has been fiercely criticized by the Obama administration. President Obama announced that he will not meet with Netanyahu during his visit to the United States. This just further justifies calls of treason launched at current House Speaker John Boehner. Netanyahu certainly will not be the first liar to testify before Congress but he will be the first liar, who happens to be the leader of a foreign government, who does so. ************* Hasn't Iran been 6 months away from producing a bomb for the last 15 years? Are John Boehner and the Republicans just hell bent on other nations lying us into war after war in order to line the pockets of their war-profiteering cronies? Hasn't this country been knowingly lied into war regarding nonexistent WMDs enough already?;
