How To Detect Bias In News Media

"Media have tremendous power in setting cultural guidelines and in shaping political discourse. It is essential that news media, along with other institutions, are challenged to be fair and accurate. The first step in challenging biased news coverage is documenting bias. Here are some questions to ask yourself about newspaper, TV and radio news...(:)

You can also gauge the media bias by the amount of - thumbs up or down, so

I learned about media bias during Vietnam. I try to - determine if something is real news or

This point was made because someone was implying - that conservatives are the
[ In Reply To ..]same as republicans, but they are not the same. they just have to run as republicans because of the 2 party system. I think someone else was trying to point out that democrats do the same, with independents running as democrats.

They could run as Independents (no party) or Libertarians, and they could also become a recognized political party and call themselves the Tea Party or another name. No one forces them to run as Republicans. Conservatives were called "conservatives" long before the Tea Party politicians came along and called themselves "conservatives" and laid claim to the word, and Republicans still call themselves "conservatives" so how do you figure that they're not "conservatives"? LOL. The Tea Party, which is a movement and not an actual political party, now wants to come along and claim they are the "conservatives," which name the Republicans and GOP had long ago already called themselves.
If you are a Tea Party politician or supporter of a Tea Party "conservative," and you're running as a Republican and then get elected to office as a "Republican" yet want to continue to claim that you're not Republican, you just might be a politician or supporter thereof who is in deep, deep denial. The little (R) after your name denotes your political party. Own it because you ran as a Republican and are, in fact, a Republican.
Many "conservatives" like to play these little word games and semantics. They even claim Obama is not their president. No, really, Obama is the 2-term President of the United States of America and is therefore your president. Anyone deluding themselves and saying he's not won't change the facts. The same goes for Rafael Eduardo Cruz, Republican from Texas and Rand Paul, Republican from Kentucky. They're Republicans.
In point of fact, the "conservative" politicians are often said to belong to the Tea Party wing of the Republican Party, still no less Republicans than any of the other Republicans.
