House Committee Chairman Devin Nunes says there was

communications concerning the Trump transition team during legal surveillance operations.
It appears Trump may have been right, again
Two days after FBI director Comey shot down Trump's allegation that Trump was being wiretapped by president Obama before the election, it appears that president Trump may have been on to something because moments ago Politico reported that according to the House Intelligence Chairman, Devin Nunes, "members of the Donald Trump transition team, possibly including Trump himself, were under surveillance during the Obama administration following November's election", he told reporters on Wednesday.
Nunes told a news conference Wednesday that the communications appear to be picked up through "incidental collection" and do not appear to be related to the ongoing FBI investigation into Trump associates' contacts with Russia. He says he believes the intelligence collections were done legally, although in light of the dramatic change in the plotline it may be prudent to reserve judgment on how "incidental" it was.
Nunes says he is "bothered" by this. Won't say whether or not intel community spied on Trump et. al. But says he is "concerned."

It would be Obama. Rep. Nunes was not ready to say that becasue they don't know yet.
They are mainly investigation who unmasked the names and if it was a FISA warrant, it's a felony to whoever did it.
Very concerning for Trump if he was "incidental" - meaning

If he was in contact with Russians because they contacted him, especially since he has been denying contact, I think he would be in very big trouble.
When did he deny being in contact with Putin? - Truthhurts

Never. He was always open about the phone calls except those that were classified but someone leaked, and now it's acknowledged that only 4 people were in the room that day and they were all Obama appointees. So it comes down to one of them. No press was there.
He was in contact with almost ALL foreign leaders after the election. It's what they do.

Trump was partially correct. There was surveillance on his whole team and him, just not "hard wire tapping."
If a FISA was issued, guess who signed for it? Then there's the felony unmasking of American names, and not just Flynn, others that were leaked. Again, that's a felony and i hope they get the info and prosecute to the fullest and not just a slap on the wrist.

Why in the world should Scott Pelley - apologize for saying Trump lied?
[ In Reply To ..]
Trump did lie. He said Obama wiretapped him. He's been tweeting about it consistently for quite a while. Trump was not wiretapped by Obama as he claims. Again, the right twisting things around.
What I find disturbing is Nunes going to Trump with information that should have gone to others first. Maybe Nunes needs to be investigated to see who he is really working for.

The NSA is able (legally, by FISA warrant) to monitor foreign agents they suspect of wrongdoing. This is what was happening with Trump. They were not monitoring Trump or Trump Tower. They were monitoring Russians and (what do you know!) the Russians were calling Trump Tower! This is called "incidental surveillance" and is what happened in this case.
Obama wanted to spy on Trump Tower and was turned down - twice before he used the FISA

I get the incidental surveillance but WHO unmasked the American names, especially since it WAS (to your statement) a FISA warrant? That's the problem and the question and now the focus of this investigation. It's against the law. It's a felony.
Everyone knows Trump spoke to Putin right after his election. He called a lot of leaders or they called him right after his election. It doesn't mean a thing and the progressives and liberals and especially the Dems in the leadership of this country need to STOP the hate and lies. It keeps this country divided.

She is being investigated for having a unsecured private server unknown to the government (which is also against the SOS rules),Benghazi, pay for play via corruption of the Clinton Foundation, all which are felonies because classified information was released in her emails which were easily hacked by outside sources.
Don't hate Hillary. Just don't like how she lied to everyone for months. Don't like the way she lied to the parents of those killed in Benghazi. Don't like the way she sold 20% of our uranium stores to Russia, don't like the way she pushed the Iran deal which scrweed our country and guess what...that uranium sold to Russia was probably resold to Iran.
....and you're so outraged and up in arms about Trump talking to Russia?? Now that's hate! Give me a break!

Yes, it's very easy to hate a lying, misogynist, narcissistic egomanic like trump. I have zero respect for him and never will. This isn't about hate no matter how you want to spin it. You think Hilary lied but trump doesn't? He lies every...single...day. Truth is what it is, not what you want it to be. Your fake news doesn't exist. It's called "not favorable" news. Three of his administration have already been proven to have been talking to Russia. He's not releasing his taxes why? What's he hiding? You all want to prosecute Obama so much you jump on every little thing so much so it's comical. The truth is there's an investigation regarding trump et al. totally on the side of Trump. No, I'm not. I don't really like him. I just don't like what the media and the Dems are doing. Would they have done that to Obama? No. Would they have done that to Hillary? No. They wouldn't do it to any Dem that was elected, even if it was crazy Alec Baldwin who ran and won.
Like it or not, he's the President. Like it or not, you're stuck with him. What these Dems are doing is attacking the people of this country who voted for him. They are attacking everyone who was nominated by him. They didn't hate Sessions when he was Senator and they didn't hate Tom Price when he was Senator. But now they do because they were nominiated by Trump.
I didn't like Obama either. He seemed sneaky. I know Clinton was more than sneaky. I did a lot of research on her and I didn't like what I found out. I did some research on Obama and I was leery about him....and
I did a lot on Trump and that's why I don't really like him but I can't see the way the media and some of the Dems are tearing our country even further apart by some of their shenanigans because they are such sore losers.
I hate the way the media and the liberals are attacking Trump's family. No one was allowedto do it to any president's family prior to Trump being elected. But so far they've attacked Melania, Barron, Ivanka, and the sons? Hypocritical and disgusting, is what it is.

I really appreciate your honesty. I do mean that. Don't see that too much around here and honestly this is why I started coming to this board, to get different views. Instead, unfortunately, I get more name calling or slammed for not sharing the same views of some. I completely get where you're coming from and you were very detailed in your reasons. Now as for me, I'm a democrat (me and my husband literally had to take an online quiz to see what exactly we were lol). Turns out I'm a moderate dem, right in the middle. I don't want our country to fail and I don't necessarily dislike Ivanka and feel kind of sorry for Trump's wife. I even made the comment during the republican convention that if Eric Trump were to ever run, I may vote for him. I don't always vote straight democrat either. I will vote for who I feel is the right candidate. For me, that wasn't trump. My disdain for him was as I explained before. And I really wish he wouldn't tweet, it's part of his downfall. From my view, he brings a lot of what he gets from the media himself. He needs to be controlled better. I did vote for Obama, but there were things I didn't agree with with him either. I wasn't one of the "sore losers" either though, I was more like "what just happened" and baffled. Hopefully this country can come together, wouldn't it be great? I WANT to see good things happen, I WANT success and I will always root for this country. That won't make me respect trump mind you, but if I see something positive or is good for this country, I'm all for it. We must have shared the soapbox tonight - sorry for long winded response, but it's nice to get my side of things out there too without being berated.

This here, this what the right is jumping on, also says nothing about Obama. You give ME a break. The right jumps on every thing to try to defend a lying nut. And yes, if it's found out that he has ties to Russia, that is outright treason. Why would you NOT be outraged? Where's his taxes to prove he has no financial ties to them? What's he hiding? Maybe if I start sounding like a paranoid lunatic like him, I'll get some of my questions answered.

sign a FISA warrant....but according to ABC, all applications to the FISA Court were signed off on by the Attorney General so if any applications were processed in the past year, they were signed off on by Loretta Lynch, but I'm sure she had to have the approval of the President. Not sure on that, though.
Chapter 36 of Title 50 of the U.S. Code “War and National Defense”, Subchapter 1, Section 1802, reads as follows: “Notwithstanding any other law, THE PRESIDENT (my emphasis), through the Attorney General, may authorize electronic surveillance without a court order.”
The original FISA request which specifically named and broadly targeted Donald Trump was denied, a second request was made months later which narrowed down on equipment (that could include phones) in Trump Tower.
Lynch also released a video over the March 4th weekend, which was published on March 7 calling for the need for more marching, blood and death on the streets. She chose not to investigate the Clinton Foundation for illegal activities but signed an application to wire tap President Trump.

chairman of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, asking him to look at a whistleblower’s evidence of “systematic illegal surveillance on prominent Americans, again including the chief justice of the Supreme Court, other justices, 156 judges, prominent businessmen such as Donald Trump, and even yours truly.”
This should be interesting. Klayman thru Judicial Watch as been far more effective than all of Congress, in the last decade or so, when it comes to exposing government wrong doing.
That spying was done, Klayman’s letter contends, by the FBI.

"There was some surveillance activity of the Trump campaign." "The question is, should they or others be put into these reports? There was additional unmasking of names. I don't know how many were unmasked and then there were others. It was legal and incidental collection but nothing criminal. There is nothing criminal involved. It's similar to the investigation of the congress people last year."
If it's an American caught up in a FISA collection, these names should NOT have been unmasked and he wants to know WHO unmasked them. Nunes was asked if this may be what Trump was talking about and Rep. Nunes answered "possibly."
No evidence of hard wire tapping at Trump Towers, though. No evidence that it was Obama doing it. But is does somewhat vindicate what Trump was saying.
It was the "usual" survellience of foreign governments, but whoever unmasked the names of Americans, has committed a felony.

[ In Reply To ..]
Okay - Trump was not wiretapped. Comey, Department of Justice, NSA, etc all said so. But, back in 2003 there were quite a few Russian gangsters staying at the Trump Towers which caused them to try to listen in on. No one issued an order in the government to listen in on anyone at Trump Towers now, so Obama did not do anything illegal, and now Trump needs to get out of this mess he is in, which seems to be mounting up everyday against him.
I watched an interview this morning on t.v. and some people were interviewed and one man said "you know Michelle Obama is a man in drag don't you?" The reporter said who told you that, and he said it is a well known fact, OMG how can people believe this stuff going on. Who I feel sorry for are the people they are going to drop from Healthcare Act, like veterans, whom Donald Trump said he would protect, well he also has a freeze on government hiring too. So Mr. Trump said he would drain the swamp - but he did not he just brought in wealthy millionaires and billionaires into the white house that are all laughing at us, because they are going to get their health bill, drop women's health, make things much harder for veterans. Thank heavens yesterday the supreme court ruled in favor of schools having to give children with special needs what they need. As the mother of special needs kids that is a godsend. No, Mr. Trump had nothing to do with it cuz he is trying to make huge cuts to the Department of Education. Don't start about Obama - none of our presidents work for us, have the greedy in congress with their hands out. Why does this health bill have to include tax cuts for the millionaires? That is what is wrong in our country. What a mess everything is. Greed, greed, greed, while the poor get thrown away. Sure is sad...
