Republican: Insurance reform is bad. Oops, health care reform.
Dem/Obama: There is lots in this bill with which Republicans agree. Can we agree denying coverage for pre-existing conditions, which is in the House Republican bill, are bad?
R: We need to start from scratch. And insurance reform is bad.
D: Insurance companies only want to insure healthy people. Can we agree sick people need insurance?
R: We need to start from scratch. Insurance reform is big government.
D: Lifetime annual caps are bad. It's in the House Republican bill. So, we agree on that, right?
R: We need to start from scratch. Throw it all out!
I'll keep watching, but we all know it's just going to be more of the same. The Republicans want to start over not because they disagree with everything in the bill but because they do not want it to succeed because it started with Obama and the dems.
I'll bet a month's pay that once the bill goes into effect, the republicans fall all over themselves taking credit for it.

;Look at the Pew poll that include the public option. It tells a very different story. That option was fought tooth and nail by the republicans but it is possibly the most strongly supported aspect of reform.
Another interesting note is that only 32% of those polled knew the Senate bill passed without any republicans voting for it, not a single one. It seems the public is sadly uninformed on this very important reform.
