This petty squabble amounts to a whole lot of nothing, since the platform committee product is being viewed through the lenses of Akin's exposing underlying winger agendas to redefine rape and criminalize abortion with no exclusion for rape and incest victims.

It makes no difference whether or not Romney "moderated" the platform, because the problem is not coming from what it explicitly says, but rather from what it implicitly DOES NOT SAY. The timing of the Akin explosion has injected an intractable fear factor that cannot be reversed, regardless of how many operatives condemn him, implore him to drop out of the race or how many times the archaic one apologizes.

The RNC party chair has also rendered this argument moot/mute-squared by excusing the candidate from running on his own party platform. Bottom line here is voters have heard the "just trust me" line one time too many. Women are not willing to take THAT kind of a chance when it involves their reproductive rights.

As for Wasserman, media outside the Fox fold recognize the point she is making...that Romney has flipped from ProChoice to ProLife, and is now flopping to the opposite end of the anti-rape-and-incest-victim/personhood spectrum, checking with his base, checking with the polls, then trying to pull himself back fro himself, all at the same time.

I think Trigger here brings up an excellent question. I am now also curious as to the answer.

Why find fault with one and not the other when they are both guilty of changing their stance on issues? Legit question! Please enlighten us!

behavior is worth disapproving of on its own. THAT'S worth discussing. I just don't understand the continual urge to drag all discussion into the gutter by slinging shabby and dishonest insults instead of standing on worthy principles and positions.

I'm a liberal, a registered Democrat, and a progressive. I treasure our socialist United States Postal Service established in 1775 by the Second Continental Congress that's worked so admirably for us all this time.

I like and admire Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz, but I don't tolerate people trying to make a fool of me by deceiving me into believing what is not true. Not her or anyone else. Including me lying to myself when I catch myself at it.
