more jobs - icedT

[ In Reply To ..]

Yeah! We really need those jobs here in America!

Say what? We are going to buy oil from Brazil? Why? Well, isn't that just great! Yell I just got all excited over nothing. Never mind then.

I thought we wanted to be independent of foreign oil? Am I missing something (seriously)?

Maybe I missed it too - WI MT

He obviously wants to be independent of Middle East oil but what is the point of encouraging Brazil? Maybe he wants to include Brazil as one of the 57 states? It seems to me he is more concerned with helping the Brazilians find jobs before the Americans? Ban offshore drilling for US companies but okay it for Brazil? God help us all if he tries any harder to "help" the United States any more. He would be better off just playing golf and watching his bracket. Can we just send him on a permanent vacation before he ruins this country beyond recognition?

Exports

Brazil was the United States' 10th largest goods export market in 2009.

U.S. goods exports to Brazil in 2009 were $26.2 billion, down 18.9% ($6.1 billion) from 2008, but up 223% from 1994 (the year prior to Uruguay Round). U.S. exports to Brazil accounted for 2.5% of overall U.S. exports in 2009, up from 1.6% in 1994.

The top export categories (2-digit HS) in 2009 were: Machinery ($5.7 billion), Aircraft ($4.7 billion), Electrical Machinery ($3.0 billion), Mineral Fuel ($1.9 billion), and Optic and Medical Instruments ($1.4 billion).

U.S. exports of agricultural products to Brazil totaled $387 million in 2009. Leading categories include: wheat ($40 million), sugars and sweeteners ($21 million), processed fruits and vegetables ($17 million), and snack foods ($16 million).

U.S. exports of private commercial services* (i.e., excluding military and government) to Brazil were $12.3 billion in 2008 (latest data available), 28.8% ($2.7 billion) more than 2007 and 229% greater than 1994 levels. Other private services (business, professional, and technical services, telecom services, and financial services) and travel categories accounted for most of the U.S. exports in 2008.

Oh and did ya know that George and Laura also used to travel to foreign countries (even Brazil)?! Shocking I know!! Funny but I couldnt find anything on google about people ripping him and claiming it was a vacation. Weird. Maybe I missed THAT.

Brazilian Oil = GEORGE SORO$ - AZMT

Obama is just handing a sweetheart deal to his big buddy and partner in crime (Google COREXIT), George Soros. This first came out in 2009

And again late last year.

George Soros will make a FORTUNE on this deal!!

somebody - sm

Sounds like somebody is making money on the deal....surely not the American workers/potential taxpayers. I don't get it.

You don't get it? - AZMT

Well, I think you get it allright!

Reread your own post. You got it just fine!!

We are being SCREWED once again. Lining the pockets of the CRIMINAL CABAL and futhering their GLOBAL AGENDA trumps what's best for America and American workers. It's that simple.

What I meant by "I don't get it," is that I don't understand why people aren't screaming and yelling about this?  I think this might be one of those issues that could cross party lines, couldn't it?  These were potential American jobs, and the workers were just sold out.  It's just sad to see how the MSM protects this administration.  What will it take (besides selling them out) until they get upset and begin to ask questions?

Look up Ex-Im Bank (privately funded-not by taxpayers) and the loan was approved by people appointed by Bush.

Soros hedge fund sold off Petrobas shares long before the loan was made..

Also were you aware that last year Brazil was thinking of making a deal with Iran---drilling supplies from Iran and Brazil would help with nuclear?

Loan approved by people appointed by Bush? I did not know that - Interesting

This one takes the cake! - Zville MT

[ In Reply To ..]
There is a $2 billion (billion, with a B!) "loan" available to the Brazilians so they can drill for more oil so we can then buy it from them.

In what alternate universe is this a good idea?

Where is the proof that the situation is as you have interpreted it? - Provide proof please

We will wait for the proof.

But The Roots Of Discontent Run Far Deeper Than InequityJul 17, 2016
But the roots of discontent run far deeper than inequity in the use of deadly force by police. As the country celebrates its 240th birthday, black Americans continue to earn less than half the national average. Black infant mortality is twice that of white babies. Black household wealth is on average 13 times smaller than that of white households. Some 38% of America’s prison population is African American, compared with 13% of the country at large .....
