What we said was; If you think I was being honest with you about health care, you're naive, I only said that you could keep your health care and your doctor to sucker you into voting for me.... PERIOD. I am sorry you are now stuck in this circumstance, but it was more important to get your vote than it was to actually care about your health coverage. Soon you too can go to health care .gov and give your personal data to a hacker or to some unscreened employee who has previously been in prison for fraud. Signed, Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Carney, Schultz, & the Deception Clan. PS, We will talk about Benghazi (Clinton), fast & furious (Holder), the IRS, the NSA, throwing Israel under the bus repeatedly, why I am really working with Iran, and all my other garbage later!;

"My heart sank when I got an email late last month - from my friend Robert, who has been battling

[ In Reply To ..]
multiple sclerosis for the past decade. He wrote to tell me that he was among the many Americans who in recent weeks received letters from their insurance companies saying that their policies won't be available next year.

Insurance companies are sending those letters primarily because the policies they will no longer offer don't provide enough coverage -- or have deductibles that are too high -- to comply with the Affordable Care Act. In many cases, however, the policyholders getting those letters are simply victims of a business practice insurers have engaged in for years: discontinuing policies because they're no longer sufficiently profitable.

Robert understandably was worried. Like most of us, he'd been seeing the news stories about people who had received similar letters and seemed to be resigned to having to pay more in premiums next year for comparable or even less coverage, thanks to Obamacare.

Considering his very serious and costly preexisting condition -- his medications alone cost more than $5,000 a month -- Robert was nervous as he started looking for a replacement policy. How much more would he have to pay to stay insured?

A couple of weeks went by. I assumed Robert, like many others, was still waiting for the Obama administration to fix Healthcare.gov so he could shop online for coverage. It turns out Robert wasn't willing to just wait. He decided to call an insurance agent and talk to a real live human being about his options for next year.

He could barely believe what he heard: he could get better coverage than the policy being discontinued -- and pay less -- thanks to Obamacare.

"The overall cost of the plans I'm considering is cheaper than the plan I am currently paying for," he wrote me this week. "My total cost for coverage now, including premiums and out of pocket costs, is about $9,800. Two of the plans I'm seriously considering for next year have total costs of $8,400. I'm shocked, but in a good way."

So not only did Robert not experience the sticker shock he had been expecting, he will save $1,400 next year on health insurance.

The plan he is leaning toward -- a top-of-the line "platinum" plan -- will have a higher monthly premium, but he will still SAVE on average about $117 a month because of the way his out-of-pocket costs will be calculated."

how much time the wrong wing devotes to silly sladerous side shows and scandal scamming and shamming and how little time they spend on healing what ails their fractured body politic, starting with recognition and eradication of failed 2008 and 2012 campaign strategy schemes.
The GOP deep reds can fix their party and start winning tomorrow by - integration with other conservatives.

They are so unwilling to do that that almost every survival technique is being tried, including subverting our right to vote by phony vote counts, gerrymandering, voter suppression, etc., etc.

Ultimately it's the realization that they'll lose elections everywhere at all levels if they don't change their attitudes that is causing a few to even be willing to replace our government of the people, by the people, and for the people with a deep red totalitarian one. Anything to avoid standing with moderates, Hispanics and other "Others" for what they say they believe in.

Some have willfully allowed themselves to be lead, mislead, and tricked down this path so gradually over decades, dressing up true motivations with justifications, that they don't even recognize what they've brought themselves to.

That is just ONE - story and may not even

I know 3% of insureds have substandard, usually junk - discontinued policies and that of those
[ In Reply To ..]
a significant but unidentified number will get MUCH better insurance at prices they can handle. Compared with all those benefiting very nicely from Obamacare, not many are actually hurt by current guidelines. And yesterday President Obama promised to do something to cut their numbers.

NOTE, that the majority of those would have no problem if their state governments hadn't shut them out in the cold. Obamacare is NOT the villain here.
promises schmomishes - he has made these
[ In Reply To ..]
"promises" before and never follows through. I do not believe a word he has to day, at this point. Once bitten, twice shy. He has had chance after chance to prove himself credible and he has failed miserably every time. This is going to be no different. lies, lies, and more lies.
What? Obamacare IS the villian, forcing us to - pay for benefits we dont need!!!
[ In Reply To ..]
just to pay for someone else. I am in my 50s and must purchase maternity care along with some other useless junk, and so my perfectly fine plan was cancelled.. now doubling in premiums. This is disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I now must go without insurance because I can't afford it now ! Thanks, Obama.. not!
this doesn't make sense to me - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Maybe I'm missing something, but insurance coverage always covers stuff we may not need. We may never need coverage for devastating illness, but it's covered under our insurance. We may never break our leg, but it's covered under our insurance. It's not like my premium goes down if my insurer determines me to be beyond child-bearing age. And if I were to miraculously become pregnant, my insurance would cover that, too. It's always worked this way. I don't understand the complaint about paying for benefits we don't need - that's the nature of insurance. In fact, under DH's previous plan, there was either individual coverage or family coverage - nothing in between. Thus, in order for me to be covered by my husband's health insurance, we had to pay for family coverage - whether we had kids or not.
You are not purchasing maternity care - we are all purchasing everyone's care
[ In Reply To ..]
As per the commenter below, that is what insurance is and has always been!

BTW, previously women had to pay more because they were women. Do you think they said, well, you're older so we will deduct some from you as no maternity care necessary. Nope, older women have problems that younger women do not, so women as a group were penalized in a general manner just for their sex. In essence, we were paying more for things like requiring contraception, mammograms, higher incidence of certain cancers, maternity, menopause, etc.

But guess what, what about all those men who got to pay less because their sex was considered less of a risk (I imagine a bunch of men made up that rule)? Guess what we have been subsidizing for all these years. Their boner pills and their penile implants. Is that good with you to pay for?

The whole point of the ACA is that everyone pools their $ and every health problem is covered. You cannot pick and choose, but the important fact to realize is that you never could! You are not paying extra for maternity care that you need. If that's true, then a young woman is paying extra for menopause issues that older women experience, so it cancels out.

Unless your policy specified you got an actual deduction for being past childbearing age, this is simply not true.
This story true, and right others not so happy. - Yesterday Obama promised some changes to
[ In Reply To ..]
allow more of those inclined to keep their substandard policies.

Hopefully, it will only be for those who can demonstrate unacceptable premium increases in their markets. I have always been happy to help impoverished people, but the well off who have been sponging off my hard-earned dollars really make me mad.

healthcare.org and has a one-sided view only. Read some of the comments below the article itself and you will see where the "true American" people stand on this. The "comments" alone say it all! :-)
If you read the "comments below" you will see - ONLY what that particular segment thinks

nothing more or less, and certainly not where the "true American" people stand...

comments reflected are ONLY the segment of the population reading, and choosing to comment at a particular time and date.

well, of course - same with any "polls"
[ In Reply To ..]
but most of the "comments" were negative to the whole Ocare thing at all, and of course it is only a sample reflection of the American people, same as the "polls" on the last election... but it is a good sampling and still reflective of how the People feel about this mess! Do not try to degrade it just because it is not in your aspect of thinking. Even this sample of people commenting shows that there are more people against this whole thing than there are for it. Most experiences by the American public have not been a good experience. Deny it all you want, it will not change anything. It is a disaster.

If your gullible enough to believe the article - Guess what

I've got a bridge for sale as they say.

These stories are not false because I am one of the people who got a cancellation notice and believe me, it's no "scheme". It's real and yes it is scary. Hope to be able to get on with Obamacare soon so I will have some insurance, but no, this Huff article is not credible.

Pure garbage, and if it's not pure, it's one good story out of - millions of bad. Either way, O-care is a fail.

To those of you who favor Trump and are newspaper subscribers, please look and see if George Will's column is in today's paper.  I don't think his conservative credentials can be questioned.  He is asking what DT's connections are to Putin and whether DT has business interests in Russia.  The only way we will know this is by DT releasing his personal and business tax records.  This is very important and even Trump supporters should be interested in getting ...

Hi all- I'm not wanting to start a big fight here, so that's not my purpose.  I just want to address an issue that many people share. And would like thoughts on both sides. It's perfume (not including scented body sprays) users who use too much.  This can easily happen to the wearer, particularly if you wear the same perfume every day. Your nose gets used to it, so you might be using more than you initially did and not even realize it. (Kind of like someone who smokes d ...

If posters continue to call us Tbag, Tpub or whatever I say you allow us to call them Communitsts and Nazi's (at least that is more accurate). Many people are taking great joy in insulting conservatives by calling them Tbags, Tpubs or referring to conservatives as teabaggers (then acting innocent as if they didn't know this was insulting).  This is not true.  Not all conservatives belong to the tea party.  They need to get it correct too.  If they want to refer to ...

On Another Note, Biden And McConnell's Plan Dec 31, 2012
This was before Obama's speech. BTW, according to Sen. Corker, Obama wants to pay for the sequester cuts (and have them taken out of this new legislation) with the tax increase revenue and not reduce spending cuts already agreed to and not the deficit. Again, Obama doesn't know how to add or subtract. Taking in $80 billion and spending $60 billion does not give $80 billion towards spending reduction on the debt. This story has been updated.
