viral spinal cord infection

If I were to have a viral spinal cord infection would I have a fever? My head and back hurt severely. I had a spinal tap in December that was negative but they checked for bacteria. Worried about this and Guallain-Barre although I think I would be paralyzed by now. All my spinal muscles feel paralyzed. Could that be part of fibro? I am just miserable. Thanks for any and all help.
