Swollen ankles

Does anyone have a problem with their ankles swelling? I've never had a problem with this before; it must be the hours of sitting. Any ideas of what to do about this?;

[ In Reply To ..]Mostly it's my right ankle and it kind of is tender on the inner part. I don't think it's phlebitis, but more probably from poor circulation. So I went out and bought some compression stockings and started wearing them, now for about a week. They're the mild ones, Jobst SupportWear, 8-15mmHg, and have noticed a difference. I've been getting up about every hour when working to walk around a little bit, flexing my ankles, just to get the circulation going. When I'm off work, I put my feet up whenever I get a chance. I try to watch my salt intake too. I hope this helps...

[ In Reply To ..]I take the dogs on a long walk after my shift and my swollen ankles and feet shrink back down usually by the end of the walk.
Compression stockings help. Ugly they are but they help - no message

[ In Reply To ..]I've always had a tendency to swell, even when I was younger. I switch my foot pedal back and forth throughout the day, and put the non-pedal foot up. This helps immensely! I thought it would be too difficult to switch feet, but it really isn't at all. I have my pedal's play button set to hold down to play, and let up to stop, thus leaving the foot in a resting position instead of held in the air while playing (if that makes sense).

[ In Reply To ..]Guess I better get some support hose! That and taking some walking breaks. Hard to do as under the gun to produce lines and more lines! I guess after doing this for almost 30 years, it has taken its toll on my body. We won't even talk about my wrist, lol

Knee Swollen, Tight, PainfulOct 18, 2009
Have been having trouble with my knee since about spring of this year. I had a knee scope ten years ago for some torn cartilage, and the knee did great for the ten years following, but flared up this past spring. Recnetly I have noticed that towards the end of my shift, my footpedal foot gets swollen. It does not hurt, but if I continue working for a few hours after it starts to swelll, it does get pretty uncomfortable. The swelling takes a few hours to go back down after I quit working and put my feet up. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and what they did about it. ...
