Stress echo

Posted: Mar 16, 2014

I am scheduled for the test on March 24th.  I have osteoarthritis in my hips, spine, etc.  I also have fibromyalgia.  I am concerned about being able to do the treadmill.   Thanks for any insight.

I've had both the regular stress echocardiogram test and the non-walking stress test where you lie on a table and are injected with an agent to rev up your heart. Ask your doctor about having the non-walking test. It's no fun, but it only lasts a few minutes. You just feel a little dizzy and strange during it.

Contact them & tell them you're not sure about treadmill. - Maggie May

If you just go to the appointment for the treadmill and then can't do it, you will be wasting everybody's time. That's what they told me when I had my stress echo. Good luck.

dobutamine stress - NK

I, too, was concerned about being able to walk on a treadmill because of back issues. I called and told a nurse that, and she scheduled it as a dobutamine stress test. I had no symptoms during the test although they did ask me a couple of times if I was lightheaded. I think you'll find that you fretted unnecessarily - I certainly did. :)

Thanks for all replies - Concerned/nm

amount of stuff in homes (on average, of course).  *Men's did not (big surprises here). So, two years ago we bought a 50-year-old mobile home on a canal in Florida from a snowbird couple who hadn't spring cleaned the drawers and cupboards in lots of years (can't do that from a car headed north after all). So I took a vanload to Goodwill and kept what I thought we could use in a vacation place. Today I did stage 2 and got rid of 90% of that. Which made me think of this book ...
