Achy joints

Posted: Jan 17, 2012

I live up north and the weather is making a drastic change today.  Anybody else get achy sore joints when this happens?  My knees are killing me.  Any home remedies?

Golden raisins soaked in gin - me

Don't laugh. Many people swear by this. We just tried it - soaked the raisins in some Bombay Sapphire gin - you eat 9 a day, and only 9, for whatever reason. I must say I was skeptical, but on the days I don't take them, my joints ache worse than ever. Not a magic cure-all, but it is a home remedy you can try. I also use Vicks and rub it on my knees or wherever it aches, especially at night - the mentholatum heating really feels wonderful! Good luck. I'm in the northeast and I know what you mean. I'm just grateful I work at home and don't have to go out in it unless I really have a reason!

Are you sure it's not just the gin making it better? - JL-nm

Maybe. Are the raisins just so you aren't drinking on - an empty stomach? nm

Do you eat them all at once - terrible joint pain

or do you eat them throughout the day? When do you eat them, first thing in the morning or later in the day. Does it have to be gin or can you use rum. I tried gin once and thought it was horrible. I have just about every other kind of liquor in my house, but no gin. Does it have to be golden raisins or can you use regular raisin. This is very interesting. Thanks for the info.

This is a remedy - that The People's Pharmacy

talks about and apparently quite a few swear by it. It looks like it has to be only gin and only the good stuff because cheap gin has impurities. I don't think they really understand why or how this works though. You would think raisins would be a lot better with rum though LOL!

I'm for it! - northeasterner

Yum. The Sapphire I mean, not the raisins. - mthead

Do you think it has something to do with the barks, roots and berries in Sapphire? Wonder if other gins use those types of ingredients.

Does anyone else have trouble with painful, achy legs?  My are hurting after only sitting at the computer for half an hour and then they hurt the rest of the day.  This is especially bad since I had my gallbladder removed four weeks ago.  Does anyone have any suggestions to help the pain?  TIA! ...

Stiff Joints. Sometimes Painful, Sometimes Not.Apr 15, 2012
I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem.  Sometimes my finger joints, knees, wrists, and ankles get so stiff that I cannot move them unless I pop them.  Sometimes they hurt extremely bad until I pop them, sometimes no pain, and sometimes they just won't pop.  This is something that I have been dealing with for as long as I can remember, so it isn't something that has been caused by the sitting from doing MT or anything like that.  I have had one doctor ...

Prolozone Therapy For JointsJan 16, 2016
Has anyone had Prolozone therapy for joint pain/arthritis/other? Do you know of anyone who has? Any info would be helpful. I have searched and searched and find a lot of positive reviews but no negatives and find this kind of interesting and hopeful. I'm considering this treatment in lieu of surgery and would appreciate any info you might have so I can make a more educated decision. Thanks so much. ...

Cracking Joints - Silly ThoughtJan 02, 2010
I've had no work so far this morning, so I'm bugging you guys.  You know when a doctor dictates "the patient has crepitus" in such and such joint? Pretty much all my joints have crepitus and I've had it almost all my life.  How will they know if it's an abnormal finding or not?  LOL.        ...
