Survey on pillowcases

Posted: Mar 18, 2015

Recently, I have noticed a lot of case-less bed pillows on TV shows.  I also noticed it at someone's home -- a bed pillow in the living room, no less, and I do not think it was case-less because they were doing the wash.   I am not sure what to make of this.

Do you use pillowcases?  If so, do you do anything special with the open end?   (I fold mine in envelope-style.)

Edited to add:  Do you use a pillow protector under the pillowcase?   (I do.)

Not only do I always use a pillowcase - NJMT

but I always use a pillow protector (sort of like pillowcase underwear) underneath the pillowcase. I don't do anything special with the open end of the pillowcase because I have the pillow protector under it.

Thank you, I forgot about pillow protectors - Inquiring Mind

Thank you for mentioning pillow protectors! I forgot about those.

When you put the pillow, wearing its protector, into the pillowcase, do you put the zippered end in first? (I don't like touching the zipper by accident during the night.)

Always! - TrampledUnderfoot

Always zipper first. And I can't imagine not using pillowcases. Now I'll be noticing the naked bed pillows on TV!

Yes, I put the zippered end in first - NJMT

Pillow cases with open ends and pillow protectors. I don't do anything with the open end. My living room throw pillows are decorative and don't need pillowcases.

Always pillowcases although noticed 1 day - housekeeper did not put

a case on one pillow, thought a little strange as the rest had cases on them. Had not heard mild be a new thing. I think pillows just look better and I do not tuck in the ends. As far as LR pillows never have cases as they are decorative. To tell the truth, do not really care for those all that much, could do without.

You're on the MT board and you're saying you have a housekeeper...Must be freakin' nice! I don't even have FOOD!
Yes, have a person that comes in 1 day - every other week

There are probably others here that have help as well. I have had someone for years now. My work is less now, part-time but when I worked 2 full time jobs, hours 5 to 1:30, nap and then 5 to 10 or 10:30 with both days on the weekend had help then. It is nice.
Good for you! - hk

Mosquito SurveySep 23, 2014
This year wasn't too bad for mosquitos until we got a bunch of rain recently & now it's a feeding frenzy! I'm allergic to them & steadily developing allergies/reactions to the things that repel them or help one deal with it (like Benadryl). I need to know what states or parts of states don't have this as a serious problem.  I just can't take this anymore! There must be someplace in this country where mosquitos aren't a huge problem. I like where I curre ...

From Survey: Three New Facts About The Tea PartyAug 25, 2013
There are some very interesting insights here. And we all need to brace ourselves. The arsonists would burn the barn down first--if they could, but the GOP hasn't figured out how to do without their fire. Note that a Rasmussen poll shortly before this April survey found 8% of VOTERS identify themselves as Tea Party (49% of voters disapprove them). You'll notice this study finds half of current Republicans (who make up about 1/3 of the electorate now)"identified with the Tea Party movem ...

Taking A Survey On ObamacareOct 25, 2013
Has anyone tried to sign up for Obamacare or at least checked what their rates would be? If so, are your rates better or worse than what you have now? Were you able to get thru the website and actually get a policy? Have you received a letter stating that you will lose your insurance at the end of the year?  If so, will you shop on your own for insurance or use the Obamacare Marketplace? I've heard so many horror stories about the ACA.  Just trying to get an idea of what is ac ...

Jobs Added, But Who's Getting Them? Survey SaysSep 08, 2015
So, unemployment is supposedly improving but somehow it just doesn't feel like it.  I went to a local strip mall where my Safeway is located yesterday and was sad to see that there were 2 more vacancies just since I'd been there 2 weeks ago, making 6 now.  One was my favorite take-out teriyaki restaurant.  Just gone like smoke in the wind. Well, this might throw some light on things:  Since 12/2007, native-born Americans have had a net LOSS of over 700,000 jobs whi ...

Casey Anthony Trial SurveyJun 06, 2011
Following this trial and listening to commentary there is very little doubt it seems that Casey Anthony murdered her child and disposed of the body. I think a lot of the bias is because she is a pathologic liar.  Aside from the lying can anyone take a leap and think she may not be guilty of murder or that the state is not proving it beyond a reasonable doubt? Does anyone believe she was molested by her father/brother which caused her psychopathic lying? I heard Geraldo Rivera comment ...

Survey Says! Over Half Of All Statements MadeDec 18, 2014
But some already knew that.    I am still confident in my choices, NPR, CNN, and Fareed Zakaria on Sunday morning.   My favorite parts of the article were: 1.  That you could listen to Fox and then flip a coin to determine heads its half-true, tails its a lie. 2.  NPR informed are best informed. 3.  And that people who don't watch any news at all are better informed than Fox viewers.   For example, a PublicMind survey out of Fairleigh Dickinson Un ...
