Anyone here familiar with the St. Louis/Webster Groves area?  My daughter has been accepted to college there and we will be moving this summer.  We will be going there soon to hunt for an apartment and complete her admissions paperwork.  I was just wondering if anyone knew of safer neighborhoods there that we could potentially look at.  (She kind of has her heart set on an apartment in St. Charles but I'm not so sure about that.)  Thanks for the help!  Smile

I have lived in St. Louis all my life for the most part. St. Charles is a very good place to live. As with all cities, St. Louis has its good and bad areas. I think that Webster Groves is a pretty good area too, but St. Charles would be the better choice. I have lived in St. Charles and the surrounding area, St. Peters, Lake St. Louis, etc., and they are all good areas. I live in Troy, Missouri now, which is a half hour or so West of St. Charles. Hope this helps.

Thank you, kat - sm - Birdylove

Another Cop Shooting 18-year-old In St. LouisOct 09, 2014
There isn't a whole lot of trust on this.   Looks like an off duty cop, in an unmarked car,  but wearing a uniform, saw 3 young adults on a corner.  One took off running, officer made a U-turn and chased him, eventually on foot.  Police say kid turned and shot at officer 3 times, officer shot 17 times.  Others say kid was not armed.  The CNN article says a gun was found at the scene.  I am sure there is question as to whether that was the kid's gun ...

Recent Shooting (Shaw) In St. Louis Is Not Oct 12, 2014
The article draws from many different reports, but the gist of it is that St. Louis Police cannot get their "story" straight.  Why do they need a story  Can't they just tell the truth.  Leaves me once again wondering if the victim had a gun at all.  Becoming extremely disillusioned.   I know the kid was on house arrest and shouldn't have been out.  But he went out for a sandwich and up until that point, as far as anyone reports, he hadn't done anyth ...

St. Louis Rams - Community Role ModelsNov 30, 2014
Five Rams Players demonstrate support for protestors against Grand Jury decision. The support is coming out of the woodwork. "Reacting to five members of the St. Louis Rams coming onto the field for Sunday’s game displaying the ‘hands up, don’t shoot’ gesture, a St. Louis police officers fraternal organization is demanding the team discipline the players, and that the team and league issue a formal apology, reports KSDK." http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/11/st-louis-police-off ...
