Rhianna's dress

Posted: Jun 3, 2014

I gotta say, I'm no prude, I don't think I'm getting THAT old...  But if anyone else had worn a dress like Rihanna did, wouldn't they be arrested for public indecency?  Where were the police for gosh sakes? I'm sure they have police at these events!  Or is this just another instance of celebrity having their way and to heck with the laws?  Weren't children or young adults present?   What's going on with celebrities and their over inflated sense of entitlements and that they can do what ever they want?

THESE people are cruddy examples of "role models", and sadly, our youth follow their leads.

I'm disgusted...

;

I heard just today on show out of New York that - baring your breasts was not

something that would get you arrested there. I noticed that a daughter of Demi Moore was shown the other day out on the streets there in NY sans bra. I am like you, not shocked and I think if more could get away with going totally nude, they would. This was some sort of awards show she was attending, doubt many small kids there.

Her thong looks like an Ace bandage in front. sm - 40

Classy, no.
Shocking, to some.
Desperate for attention, always.

Rihanna is one who has never learned the art of illusion. Her thing is shoving it in our face.

The hair and makeup were gorgeous--sm - anon

I do not think I am disgusted about the dress but would have thought it better with a contrasting liner. She is certainly a beautiful woman, no doubt about that.

I've seen alot of celebrities wearing the see through - dresses, shes just the first to

Wear one without a bra or pasties. The dress didn't leave much to the imagination, but that seems to be the trend lately. Welcome to 2014.

Tasteful and Classy - like The Lady herself

Drop dead stunning.

She is not the first to wear the see thru without - the bra, how about

Miley- she wore a dress. Both want attention.

Have we forgotten? - If I could turn back time...

hmmm....1989

And people wonder what is wrong with kids today. - They watch Beyonce and Rhianna, etc

I seems to me if you have talent you do not have to be half naked making suggestive moves. Maybe their lack of clothes and suggestive moves make up for a lack of talent.

I get what you're saying, but they're adults and - should be themselves.

Although it may not be your style preference, some people want to liberate themselves by being wild. I think it's fine. They work hard and they want to cut loose. I say big deal!

If they are watching Rihanna or Beyonce then--sm - anon

it is really up to the parents to have discussions with them, both sons and daughters. My daughter tends to the prudish side at 13 saying she wished the cheerleaders at football games wore more clothes and we have had discussions with our 16-year-old son about women and when there are questionable lyrics on the radio, we talk about what they mean, etc.

Rihanna - A mom of a 14 y/o fan

She is beautiful and has a lovely, young, fit body, but she's trashy and mean. She has gone so far as to cyberbully a 16 year old girl who fashioned her prom costume after her "idol", Rihanna. (granted the costume was more than risque for a 16 y/o). Anyway, it's all I can do to guide my teen from being swallowed up by her hero. I'm glad she leaning toward those newer band, One Direction, but lets see what kind of influence they bring our kids.

Yeah, it's nothing new for sure, but her online, public bullying of that girl is taking it way to far.

Class act? nah, more like trash act.

This I agree with, I think she's also mean. That's - uglier than any costume.

As far as her clothes go, I really believe she is entitled to wear whatever she wants.

One Direction..... - weed smokers

Rock out, man.

I personally see nothing wrong with it. - Red carpet sheer

People have been risque on the red carpet for a long time. Look at Cher, Rose McGowan, Jennifer Lopez...it's been happening for a while. I don't see anything wrong with it. To me, the red carpet is like Disneyland for adults. They get to be whoever they want for a night. I say good for them.

I wish I could do it myself. I think I could actually pull it off.

NEW JOB HAS DRESS CODEAug 19, 2011
My new parttime job is at one of those electronic stores where everyone wears khakis and polo shirts or short sleeved cotton shirts with the store name on them.  I am a skirt and blouse kind of gal, occasional jeans, kind of "casual-dressy-girly" style I guess.   The shirts have to be tucked in and we have to wear a belt.  I'd like to get some ideas as to how to "style" this up for my comfort level without breaking the dress code rules.  I already have thought of s ...

The Wedding Dress Shopping ...Sep 13, 2010
......did your mom go with you, or help you pick it out? If not your mom, did anyone else go with you? A friend, relative, co-worker, etc. Mine went with me, but sort of as an after-thought. I'd already picked out a hat (not a veil) and needed a dress to match the hat, so she went with me to find a dress. She soooo wanted me to wear a long wedding gown, but that's not what I wanted. I wanted a short white gauzy party dress. She made me try on a long gown, and I thought she wa ...

When Invited To A Wedding, Are Guests Required To Dress AccordingFeb 25, 2015
My father-in-law is getting married.  My husband is best man, my son is doing something during the ceremony like rolling out the aisle runner with one of the bride's grandson, and my daughter is a junior bridesmaid with bride's three granddaughters.  My son and husband are wearing tuxes rented by the groom and my daughter's dress was purchased by the bride along the other bridesmaid dresses.  I have no "job" in the wedding at all except for getting my family ready, ...

Can't Seem To Part With Mother's 65-year-old Wedding Dress...help...Aug 25, 2015
My sister was cleaning out her attic and found my mother's old wedding dress from 65+ years ago. She asked if I wanted it and I said I at least wanted to look at it. Well I took it, had my daughter try it on for a laugh, but now I don't know what to do with it. It is in bad shape. It's all wrinkled and the lace is crunchy, but the main fabric is a lovely heavy satin (although yellowed and stained). My mother hated it and I sent her a pic of it and she still hates it. She said she ...

Iran Photoshopped Michelle Obama's Oscar DressMar 13, 2013
Okay, I'm kinda behind the curve on this February "event," but I find it amusing and actually positive that Iran's state media wanted to show her at all. From the Sydney Morning Herald: US first lady Michelle Obama is the latest victim of Iran's photoshop craziness, with her dress altered to cover her neckline. The Fars News Agency photoshopped Mrs Obama's dress so it covered her chest and shoulders, according to media reports. Fars is linked to the Islamic republic's ...

Joy Villa's music sales skyrocketed after the singer wore a pro-Trump dress at Sunday night's 59th annual Grammy Awards. When she arrived at the Grammys, Villa flung off a white frock to reveal a gown of patriotic red, white and blue that urged "Make America Great Again" and had "Trump" in sparkly letters on the back hem. The 25-year-old's EP "I Make the Static" jumped to the top of Amazon's top digital paid albums and reached number seven on the iTunes top album chart aft ...
