My lowest of lows on

Posted: Nov 11, 2016

I know this is nobody elses fault but mine, but I just feel down and had to write.  Today is veterans day.  As a veteran married to a veteran, father, uncle, and many others in my family are veterans.

So here's my low of the day.  Never in my wildest dreams it would come to this.  I went into the grocerty store, swiped my debit card and it didn't work.  She said her machine is acting up today, asked me to swipe again cos she had just opened her register.  2nd time it still did not go through, so told the cashier I'd go home and get my checkbook and come back.  Because we go grocery shopping at this store all the time and the manager knows us, he told us to go ahead and take the groceries home, put them in the fridge and the come back.  I double checked my account.  I usually keep a very good eye on it (you have to when the balance stays around $5.00), but my earlier purchase at the pet store went a little above what I had planned.  So I figured out how much money I needed, then took some groceries back to be returned.

I know, I know, nobody's fault but my own, but still having to take back groceries on veterans day was pretty low.

Our industry has gotten so bad with the pay continuing to drop.  Just stinks.  Maybe I should go down to the corner and push that hooker off the street and tae her place.  LOL

Bad - day

Feel so bad for you! You deserve better as do many working people in this country and yes, being a veteran just stings all the more. Hope things improve for you. Unfortunately there is no longer a "middle class" in this country; just "poor" and "rich." That's how I see it. Thankfully I only do this job PT as I am semi-retired and getting SS now and a couple of pensions. Who can make it in this so-called profession any more on "slave wages?" Thank you for being a veteran.

I hope for you God's peace and blessings. Will keep your - family in prayer.

I feel for you going through such desperate times. The saying, "If God brings you to it, He'll belong you through it" is so true for all of us. Your service and your family's along with your faith that things will get better and finding some humor in your situation, very admirable and a testimony to us all.

I lost my job at MModal almost 2 months ago and was reduced recently to using paper towels for toilet paper. I'm very thankful though to not be under the fear and overwhelming stress I felt here for years. Going through this valley will be tough, but faith will carry us through to the other side. God bless our Veterans, my dad, brother, uncles, and more.

Thoughts and prayers - Rusty

First of all, thank you for your service and sacrifices you and your family have made in order for us to be free and live in the best country in the world. I pray that you and your family and everyone on this post get the things they need, and He does answer all prayers. My husband is a disabled vet and my son is a veteran and now a police officer. My sister was struggling with making ends meet after retirement and I encouraged and pushed her to go to food pantries to get the extra help she needed. At first she refused, felt it was embarrassing and only for poor people. Not true, food pantries are to help people, any people, in need. She did not have to show any ID or income info, she just went and got what she needed, and did not take over what she needed, and she left. Since then she has felt an overwhelming sense of relief. She goes weekly now, and only gets what she needs to supplement her groceries, usually milk and bread. She lives in a 55 and older apartment, and when someone else complains they are worried about food, she takes them with her. That is what this country is all about. Helping out the poor, the elderly, the vets, and whoever else needs it. There are several in her area, and she loves the people there she meets. In fact, she is volunteering there now on a monthly basis, and she is super excited about me telling her to do this. It is a thought. No shame, just people helping people, just like you did and you deserve help. Good luck. Prayers are with all on this post.

Thank You - For Being a Veteran

Thank you for your work for us.

I have no words, except to express that I know that our veterans are not treated properly in this country. I see so many dang lazy people loitering around while getting freebies, and our veterans suffer.

We have a program where I live, and a group of people got together (contractors, applicance dealers, etc) and built a beautiful house with all the supplies and applicances, for a veteran family that was struggling terribly, moving from place to place just trying to put food on the table for them and their 2 young children.

I was just sooo touched by that, and I wish the government would replace all the undeserved freebies and put it to our veterans.

Just know that many, many people DO care about our veterans. I myself go out of my way to shake hands and thank them for all they do for us.

You veterans are always in my thoughts and I have the utmost respect. I am hoping this new presidency will turn around this mess.

I know t he feeling - anon

Being evicted from my home, and "settling for something I don't want" but need a roof over my head. I am the widow of a veteran and while I have the "benefits, etc. I do not receive his DIC. Fighting for that right now. We were together 3 years. we were only married about 6 months or so when he died and WHEN he died, his "cancer" was not linked to Agent Orange. It is now and I have been fighting this for 19 years! I have a lot of people, who do NOT understand what it is like to be an MT, OUR wages and what we are going through. I have a MAJOR court case going on and I am on felony probation. Having to pay almost $3700 in restitution. NONE of these people understand what MT wages are like -- my fine is $2500 and 100 hours of community service at $10/hour -- if I do community service, I can't pay for a roof over my head etc. I gave up on a car and those expenses a LONG time ago. I am on food stamps and since I am in my 60s, I don't have to say "I'm out looking for work. Even being on food stamps ($194 a month), it is a struggle and I don't do "gourmet foods." I treat myself every once in a while." I went to the grocery store yesterday -- solid albacore tuna -- almost $7.00 for a 4 pack here in FL!!! INSANE!!!

Extreme Weather At All Time Lows As Climax Hoax Apr 29, 2017
The Church of Global Warming has many followers and, because it’s a cult-like religious belief to them, no amount of hard data will ever convince them they adhere to the teachings of a false god.
