How cold is it where you are?

It's 27 here, but wind chill 15. My bones are cold.

I'm in AZ but my poor parents live in Massachusetts - MT
[ In Reply To ..]75 and sunny here today in AZ. They're flying out in the fall to look at homes. I've been trying to get them to move closer to me, and this time they're serious. This winter was the last straw for them - they're moving to Phoenix before next winter. I'm so glad. They still insist on shoveling, and they both fell this winter.

[ In Reply To ..]It was 37 a few days ago, I'm in Florida and I cannot believe how cold it was. I feel so sorry for the people up North. I don't even know how you can handle it. I was freezing with no heat, just little space heaters. I would like the snow though.

[ In Reply To ..]here in Fort Lauderdale. It got down to the low 40s the other night. It was funny to see people in parkas, but I found a long sleeve shirt sufficient to ward off the terrible cold.

Last Monday, the all-time record-low temperature came through the region, clocking in at a whopping 18 below with a wind chill down to almost 40 below. My future kids are going to think I'm so tough for surviving it.

At the risk of getting tomatoes thrown at me for those people in the north, here in SW Florida, we're not used to cold weather. It's 56 today, and going into the 30s tonight. I can't stop shivering. The heat in many of the homes is not efficient at all (it shouldn't have to be!), and our windows and doors aren't insulated. I am reaching out to my fellow MT's to ask what to do about my cold feet. This time of year my feet get extremely cold while I type all day. I have never typed in shoes, and really cannot because I can't feel the difference in the pedals. If I wear shoes I end up backspacing or forwarding all the time.
