Creative Cooking

Posted: Nov 14, 2012

This is the time of year when cooks all across America begin to search for new and tasty recipes to prepare come Thanksgiving.  For those intrepid cooks, I would like to offer the following for their consideration:

DELICIOUS ELEPHANT SOUP

You will need:

1 elephant
Salt & pepper (to taste)
2 rabbits

Cut the elephant into bite-sized pieces.  This will take about 3 months.  Add salt and pepper to taste.  Cook over a Kerosene fire at 470 degrees for about 8 days.  This will serve 3,800 people.
If more guests are expected, add 2 rabbits.  Do this only if necessary since most people do not like to find hare in their soup.
=============================================

Do you think this could be a tasty alternative to turkey on Thanksgiving? or maybe a hearty side dish?  Smile  What?? It could be wonderful!! ..... Well, maybe not wonderful ........ Oh, never mind.
Walks off to sulk in the corner.

I needed that dose of goofiness today. nm. - Thanks.

The Creative Working Class Are Bringing Jobs Back. Mar 29, 2017
grab more headlines, there’s another “Made in America” story to be told. There’s a harkening back to the days of craftsmanship — and there is a groundswell of interest and entrepreneurship surrounding skills and trades. Legions of people seek work that calls for the use of their hands. Men and women of all ages crave a job that allows them to create something physically. They want to make their own products. American making and doing is strong. Maybe it’s the word “manufactur ...

Cooking Shows On TV Are Some Of MyJul 12, 2015
with the cooks tasting their dish and then using the same utensil again and again sticking back down into the food? The dishes are usually made for more than just 1 person, i.e. serving out as a picnic, a wedding rehearsal, family gathering. I guess this lady who lives on the "farm" has her own rules. ...

So Bored With Cooking The Same Things Over And OverDec 18, 2010
Sad to say that I end up cooking the same five or six things every week. I think my taste buds have atrophied. Anyone have any ideas for something really good (also fairly fast and easy to make)? My husband doesn't like things that are too spicy (100% Norwegian--family story was that his mother still had the same spices she got for her wedding 50 years on the spice rack ) but I'm looking for a change. ...

Cooking Shows, Who Do You Love? Hate?Feb 14, 2013
The Pioneer Woman is my favorite. All her foods, casseroles, desserts look absolutely delicious, full of flavor, rich and wonderful. All her shows have some sort of fun theme and she just looks like she really enjoys herself. I also love her ranch, her family, and her life-style in general. A very comforting show about simple pleasures of family and good food. My least favorite is Trisha's Southern Kitchen. I have seen her cook with Paula, and I enjoyed her then, but when she spun ...

Wish Me Luck. I'm Cooking For Thanksgiving For The First Time In YearsNov 19, 2010
I used to make Thanksgiving dinner for 15 people, friends and family, until the kids left home and mom and her boyfriend died, and friends moved away. Then there was just 2 of us. With my job, working Thanksgiving day was no big deal and I always worked that day, so DH would order takeout turkey dinners  from a local restaurant so I wouldn't have to worry about cooking. This year, there was a good price on turkey. Since I am not working, I decided to make dinner.   ...
