What I remember most about Jimmy Carter was the hostage crisis in Iran and waiting in line to buy gas because of shortages. It probably wasn't all entirely Carter's fault. He inherited problems as they all do. He got blamed because he was in charge at the time. I was young and working full-time and don't remember inflation being a big deal, but I guess it was. The economy goes in cycles. We have had a long period of growth and there was bound to be a downturn regardless of who was in office. COVID messed things up and it would not have mattered whether Biden or Trump had been President.
