What's the basis for the investigation? - sm

SCOTUS ruled that a sitting president has to comply with an investigation. But you still have to prove a criminal investigation is warranted. In other words, you need to have evidence a law was broken before you start an investigation. The government isn't allowed to start prying into your life and asking you for information just because they want to.

Fourth Amendment
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
