use textbooks with authored by Howard Zinn (think cultural Marxism) and Common Core. So many schools have become indoctrination centers. Not all, and some of the comments here about how "great" their school is reflect that, but some of us have had to deal with bias in school and know better.

My son is a gun enthusiast. He was tasked with a writing a report on guns when he was in high school. All the source material he was given was very anti-gun. So much for pros and cons, right? In his government class, each year the class had a mock election, with a Democrat and Republican. He ran as the Republican. Of course, the Democrat ran on "Democrats good, Republicans bad." Blah blah blah. My son stood on the gym floor and basically gave an uplifting speech about rugged individualism and being the best you can be, as opposed to being dependent on government.

He won the mock election and that's something considering only 9th and 10th graders voted!
