you should take it up with him, and you are also free to believe or not believe what he has to say. A church can decide what it's role is, as long as its members are in agreement (in the U-U church anyway, as we are all independent) So it is up to each U-U church. We seem to be hung up on the definition of social justice here. I see helping people (old fashioned charity) as social justice. Doing so is not taking me/us/this country down the road of socialism (ooh, that big bad word). People just have to lighten up here and stop taking themselves so darn seriously. Just help other people for goodness sake and don't worry about what it's called.
