It Will Not Be Swift - Just Beginning Posted: Sep 26th, 2019 - 7:50 am In Reply to: Trump's impeachment-a near certainty - Hopefully swift
If you can remember back to Watergate and the Clinton affair, that went on for months. Nixon resigned rather than drag the country through the process. In his case, the Senate most certainly would have voted for impeachment and he could have gone to jail. With Clinton, they voted not to impeach and I remember how long that took. Trump most certainly is not going to resign voluntarily and the Senate vote could go in his favor, if it comes to that. I don’t know all the circumstances, but this is just another nail in the coffin, people have been calling for impeachment since the day he took office. I personally think he’s incompetent and if it had been anyone other than Hillary he probably wouldn’t have been elected. Mike Pence is next in line if he’s removed from office, so think about that. The Democrats have their own agenda and aren’t all that good either, it’s the ultimate power play. Regardless, the process will not be swift.
