Taxes are DOWN this year for 90% of my BIL's clients. - Withholding also dropped and often

by a bigger margin than their tax bill dropped, but less than 5% of his clients owed anyway. Only one to date owed over 300, and she knew he would because she was an independent contractor, no withholding & self-employment taxes (SS & Medicare).

I just did a quick pass on my taxes and I'm getting a whopping $157 refund. To me, that's a success because I try to come as close to zero refund as I can. If your refund is typically large, you are overpaying the government and giving them an interest free loan on YOUR money. Not too smart.
