Trust me, I have discipline, but when you are basically eating macaroni and cheese every night, $20 every two weeks doesn't make nearly the difference that big chunk at the end of the year did. I basically put that big chunk in the bank and had a little relief for emergencies, while keeping my same lifestyle, and had enough money to get my car fixed when it broke down without having to put it on a credit card, which by the way I didn't use credit cards.

Everybody has different circumstances and many are not able to save money, not because of lack of discipline, but it just means maybe that little extra means they can buy some hamburger to go with that macaroni and cheese.
