interest free loan to the government or not, it was nice to get a bigger refund at the end of the year for many. I think this benefited a lot of people who live paycheck to paycheck and even though they may receive $20 a week more (I got $20 per two-week pay period more), that really doesn't help people struggling as much as kind of a savings account where you get a bigger chunk at the end of the year. I hope my explanation is coming across how I mean it. Basically, when I was a single parent who was struggling to keep a roof over our heads, that bigger chunk helped me much more than the few bucks every pay period.

As I'm older now and remarried I can say I was pleased with the results this year on my tax refund, but this isn't the case for a lot of people. I also understand the ramifications of this tax plan. I may have done well this year, but as the tax cuts go away in coming years for us and continue for corporations, I may not have the same pleasure I had this year and face possibly a tax increase to help pay for the permanent wealthy tax cuts.

Though many of us enjoyed this years tax refunds or small increase in paycheck, that will go away in coming years while we continue to prop up the wealthy. You can call it envy or whatever you want but it is the same thing that always happens when the republicans give their so-called middle tax cuts. We end up propping up and providing corporate welfare. There will be actions that will attack the "entitlement" programs to help pay for this and we will again be propping them up while having things taken away from us. Many say they are tired of paying for programs that help the poor, but I'm tired of paying to help the rich. They don't need my help but the poor do.
