TV meteorologist fired for slip of the tongue characterized by some - to be racial slur

I believe this is political in part, but to avoid arguments against posting it on the Politics part of the board, I am posting it here.

I'm so outraged by Jeremy Kappell having been fired because he accidentally ran two words together and the result sounded like a racial slur (actually, it sounded like Koong) that I'm sharing the link for the petition for him to get his job back. This story has been all over the news the past couple of days, and I urge anyone who is interested to read about it. This man lost his livelihood because of a SLIP OF THE TONGUE. God help us.

Also, please take note of the part that Rochester, NY, mayor Lovely Warren had in this career-lynching.
