That is terrible. Anyone who reports news, weather, whatever, is going to run words together. It happens to all of them. It's common, and one needs to take that into consideration. They end up tongue twisters by mistake. The media twist everything. Or, perhaps, it's listeners who are on the "wrong" side complain and then the media's sponsors threaten to pull their ads.
What is happening here? As if the meteorologist purposely did this to slam a certain race? Geeze Louise. I did not listen to the clip, but I can think of many ways this could get mixed up. "Cool in the morning," could easily become Coong with a slip.
