First of all I do not want a wall. He promised Mexico would pay for the stupid wall not us. Food stamp benefits will run out the middle of February as there is only enough in the budget for half the month. People are contractors, much like ourselves, cleaning staff, et al, are contractors and do not get paid when not working definitely do not get back pay, they just do not work and do not get paid. If they search for other work and suddenly the government opens back up, do they go back to that job or keep what they have? Who would hire someone who may go back to their old jobs in a heartbeat? Also the restaurants these employees/contractors go to for lunch, dinner, to shop are also losing business, etc., it just goes on and on from there. People with day cares taking care of children of people who work for the government are out of money. There are never ending consequences. Not the Dems fault. His campaign promise was Mexico would pay not us. This is not a budget issue, this is him having a tantrum for not getting his way and making everyday people pay the price.
