God is so good! Thrilled to provide this update - OP Posted: May 16th, 2018 - 3:30 pm In Reply to: Prayer request - sm
We brought our boy to the surgeon today, who anesthetized him, re-x-rayed, removed his splint, and palpated the fractured areas. He told us there is some new bone growth since the the x-ray from a couple of weeks ago, and there is some stability in the area. He said he does not need surgery! They are putting on a new splint that will require our boy to bear more of his weight than with the first splint, thereby encouraging more bone growth, while still providing enough support for the healing bones. In 2 weeks, we have to take him back, at which time they may take off that splint and only apply a bandage. He will have to remain limited activity for 6 weeks after that, but this vet (a top surgeon in our tristate area) says he feels there is a very good chance for full recovery. We are THRILLED!
Thank you all again so much for praying. My husband and I know that we have walked through this trial with an extra measure of grace because of all the prayers. God bless you guys!
Off to pick up our pup! :)
