A Thought - see msg

You don't say how old you are or if you have dependents living with you, but have you thought about moving in with them? Or asking them to move in with you?

You can also call a home health agency and check to see if your folks' health insurance would cover any of it, or perhaps your folks have a separate plan for their old age? Or, if they were savvy and saved for their old age, they may be able to afford it on their own. But, resistance by them is still a problem.

It's a very difficult situation. What my husband and I did was convert their house into a mother-daughter when they were still healthy. It wasn't a lot of expense---it was just a matter of putting a wall up between our living spaces. When they got older and started falling, breaking knees and hips, we were right there.

Don't believe the folks when they say they are "fine." Most of them tell fibs to keep you from worrying, or keep you from taking action to have them placed somewhere. FYI: You probably already know this, but since nobody has guardianship over them, they have rights to refuse going anywhere.

Good luck to you.
