I agree, now that my "job" provides no "work" - yet they will not lay me off

I have been looking into the ACA. Even with a $900 monthly subsidy, the only policy worth getting (without a huge deductible that is - what is that but an incentive NOT to go to the doctor, and for that I pay a premium every month? Doesn't matter how low the premiums are if it costs $150 to go to the doctor) costs about $500/month for the two of us.

Well, we are both getting older and kind of sketchy income or potential income (MTs know what this is like), cannot justify $500/month for health insurance since I can barely pay my other bills.

When I checked the ACA when it first came out, the policies were much better. The deductibles were not huge if at all, the copays were realistic. Already they have messed with this, and double digit increases predicted next year.

So, Mr. President: “We’re having tremendous plans coming out now — health care plans — at a fraction of the cost that are much better than Obamacare.”

Really? Anyone finding this? Personally, I mean, not just because you want to believe him, but in your personal experience, has anyone got decent health insurance this year that doesn't have a huge deductible which applies even for a GP visit?

As far as MT goes, whatever has made it into what it is now, worse than what we ever imagined even last year, whether it's the the tax bill that means they would rather outsource to contractors than even offshore to India apparently, or just plain deregulation of the workplace in general, defunding govt agencies that protect workers' rights thereby giving more power to the employers, well not MAGA, not for me anyway.
