Do any of you supporters care about this?

Posted: Jun 27, 2017

won't but here it is anyway.  Trump pay-for-play.  I'm sure you'll answer (that is if you answer) with some slam at Hillary or Obama, but I want to know what you think about Trump pay-for-play.

;

Why would I care? - Seriously.

I don't have time to read the whole article. Scanned it and sounds like a typical fundraiser.

Not really. Typical fund raisers don't bring - money into the President's pocket.

Really? Why not? Presidents and - politicians need to support themselves

[ In Reply To ..]
Where do you think the money from fundraisers goes if not partially to the fundraiser himself? It may be sugar-coated but ultimately politicians have to support themselves.
I'm speechless on that answer. I sure hope - at some point they get
[ In Reply To ..]
laws in there to prevent conflict of interest for the president. This president uses that lack of law all the time to his advantage and his supporters think it's okay.
Double standard - all the way
[ In Reply To ..]
If this had been a Clinton or any democrat, they would be screeching in their usual way about corruption, put them in jail, blah, blah, blah - notice now it is more of a shrug of the shoulders and how no one cares? Double standard!
It is business as usual on both sides - the political system is corrupt
[ In Reply To ..]
Both sides of the aisle has been corrupt for years. You all are making a big deal of it because it is Trump. These people are not in politics because they are do-gooders. They are in it for the power and the money the power brings in. Some politicians are better at hiding their corruption busy pointing fingers at the other side hoping voters won't notice them but they all participate and they make laws protecting them for their underhanded dealings.

Show me a poor or middle-income politician in Washington.
True, but I am not - pointing this
[ In Reply To ..]
out because it is Trump - there is always a divide between right and left politically, but there does not have to be. I think corruption is what it is and if more voters stood up against it - on both sides - the politicians would notice. This holding your companies while you are president is a gross conflict of interest and in my opinion Everything he has signed of done while in office so far has been to better himself and his family and his 1% buddies - nothing for those of us he promised would be in better shape with him in charge. We need to show these politicians that we won't stand for it anymore and that we can work together to make sure that they do and get things done for all of America and not just those who put them in office!
You had me with working together until - Trump bashing began
[ In Reply To ..]
There is no sane person on earth who does not want to better themselves, their family and friends.

Every friggin politician is corrupt and you aren't going to change it. The system is rigged against voters. You get to choose between EVIL and perhaps a little less EVIL. Vote someone in and they join the good-ole-boys network who protect each other while getting richer at the expense of the voters, taking bribes from special interests.

I do not find Trump as reprehensible as most politicians and he has only been president for approximately 6 months so I am not holding him accountable for "broken promises" or consider him a failure in the short time he has been president.

when you are already cra**ing on a gold toilet and have NO worries about money?

Trump is just as corrupt as any politician out there...and is all about himself...not America...wait and see.
So true. I get a laugh out of many posts here. R and D back and forth - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
The name-calling, the "hate" posts. All of the deflection about unimportant things. We are talking about government, people. If more people objected to Congress as a whole instead of party against party more would probably get accomplished. Those people are not there for 4-6 years, they are there for life and should be held accountable for what they do and do not act on. They are the very root of the problems with our "democracy," as well as the people who fund them. I thought Obama accomplished a lot, considering the constraints placed on him and what he inherited. I thought Hillary was a very, very experienced politician, meaning crook, and Trump is inexperienced in government as a whole and should not be president because he was a crook in his "successful" business dealings. I do not point fingers at voters or parties. It is quite immature and not an intelligent way to address problems. All of this Obama did this, Hillary did this, so the people who voted for them are scum really gets old. The choice between Trump and Hillary was the same as picking poison or a shot in the head.
Exactly! - I could not
[ In Reply To ..]
vote for either of them, but I was flabbergasted when Trump won - even though I prayed Hillary would not. We have to find better candidates to run our country, but with all of the money and media it is almost impossible. It's like the Manchurian candidate - they are groomed from a young age and put in front of the camera with all of the right talking points. Never anything from the heart because most of them don't have one. I am an optimist, but it gets harder and harder every election to stay that way! Hopefully, someone comes out that can truly save this country!
I'm not saying corruption doesn't go on - in politics. I have just
[ In Reply To ..]
never seen a president flaunt it out in the open like he does and his supporters don't care just because others do it. Nobody, I repeat, nobody has used the lack of conflict of interest to the degree this president has. That is why it is a big deal!
He is not business as usual. He takes it to - a whole new level of corruption

Everything Trump does is designed - to put money in his pocket

that includes fund raisers, charities, the presidency, etc. He is driven by a need to acquire more money and get his face seen everywhere. Oh the pantyline, that's the other end.
Obama came into office as president - Truthhurts
[ In Reply To ..]
When Obama is sworn in as president, he owned somewhere between $1 million and $5.1 million in U.S. Treasury bills.

When he left office, he was worth around $12.2 Million and Michele was worth $11.8 million.

Those millions didn't come from just being president.

Stop with the hate against Trump. Give him a chance. If you cant' stop the hate, you'll get ulcers. :)

So campaign fundraisers are okay for the Left but not the Right - Truthhurts

[ In Reply To ..]
I get it now. Okay, gotcha. I understand now.

Let's just allow the Dems and the left like resisters Hillary and Obama and Bill keep fundraising for Dem campaigns. After all, Obama did nothing but campaign for 8 years and Hillary pocketed a bunch of $$ into the Clinton Foundation, which was later used for her campaign.

Do you see how absurd that article is? It's just another hit piece by NPR who is funded in part from guess who...yep...fingers in all pies - Georgie Soros and he is teaching his son how to lie, cheat, and steal, too.

Like Trump is - teaching his

kids what the older ones haven't already learned? Of course it is not okay for ANY president to profit off of his office, but why does every conservative on this board refuse to admit what Trump is doing as president is wrong and have to always bring up Obama and Clinton? They were wrong if they did this, but what the current president is doing (and who is a billionaire) is putrid!

I dont' know what you think he's doing wrong by - Truthhurts

doing what all presidents do. So many can only see one side of a "discussion" and it's always "their" side.

I see a president who has meetings with his advisers, with officials of other countries, and trying to do some good for this country but the hatred has never been worse for a president via the Dems. I see it every day in the Dems "press conferences." I also see a president who won't bow down to the "bullies" or any other country that kept taking advantage of our generosity. I don't see this president allowing other countries to step all over us like the last president.

The Dems wouldn't work with the Republicans back in 2005 on reining in the housing subprime markets and even as late as August 2007, Barney Frank kept saying their was nothing wrong with the financial sector (and he was on the Fiance Committee?) and when they got total control in 2006, they practically made hate speeches via Dirty Harry every day IN the Senate, which was against Senate Ethics Rules.

So, even though I was hoping for someone else for president (definitely not Hillary), I'll give Trump at least a year to do some good. Obama was given 8 years. What's so hard about giving Trump 1 year?

Maybe if hate news would give TRUE stories, and if the Dems would do what they said they would do after Rep. Scalise was shot (which only lasted a day), the country would calm down and the hate between the people would go back to a decent, respectable, unified country. But I guess that's wishful thinking.

Have a nice day. Got to go for the night.
Obama did not - own the hotels
[ In Reply To ..]
of fundraisers. Obama did not have several multi-million dollar companies that he would have walked away from (though Trump has not). And the Republicans were more obstructive than anyone - McConnell and his vowing to do anything to make sure Obama was only a 1-term president, etc. All of these things are true, but still does not address the question of why the Trump supporters on this board will not discuss what Trump is now doing. Rather it is always about someone else. I understand what you think you see and my best recommendation would be to schedule an eye exam at this point because no one should live with only half of their vision!

I know the system can be flawed. I know sometimes the wrong person is convicted of stealing, or whatever. But, when the penalty has escalated to the death penalty, any doubt, any evidence, no matter when it is found, nothing matters, it all should be considered and we should never put a person to death if there is any doubt at all.
