Well after all these months being told I am crazy, i went to my previous primary care physician this morning after another one ignored me.  I have severely decreased leg reflexes, swollen and paralyzed facial muscles, must be Guallain-Barre. So went back to vet, got referred to an orthopedic/neuro specialist, who said that even with surgery ($4200) Oskar only has a 50/50 chance of fully recovering.  He then said that an option was "putting him to sleep" but I told him I would only do that if he seemed to be in pain, which he does not.  Why is euthanasia always an "option" with some vets?  That is what they suggested I do when I first got him because he was deaf.  We wouldn't put a person "down" just because ...
