New Refugees -2017?

The news media today is reporting that Kerry is saying (as if it were written in stone) that the White House will accept 110,000 refugees in 2017. Excuse me, but am I missing something? I thought that the current bunch will be gone. Where is it written that they have any say in the 2017 refugee admissions? And a little note at the bottom states that Hillary wants more than that. Has this become a dictatorship with a king in the White House and a wannabe queen dictating policy to us? In my hunble opinion, something is very wrong with this picture, don't you think?

Trump is not ideal, but he loves America and everything she stands for. Hillary's idol is Saul Alinsky.

If anyone has any doubts about Hillary and/or the democratic party, they should go see "Hillary's America" or rent it when it comes out on DVD October 11th, I believe.

Look it up and subscribe. The moderator follows refugee news -- the companies that want these refugees make about $1000 a head, so it is PROFITABLE at TAXPAYER EXPENSE. The companies are not responsible long-term for these people. They just set them up in some sort of living situation and sign them up for freebies. You will be infuriated!

I am embarrassed and ashamed at how our country looks at refugees. Many of these families lost their homes because of bombings, some by the USA. And we fear them coming here. I hope none of us ever have to swim across water that is deep and dangerous to find a better life, live in a tent, have no heat or food, and have our children to take care of too. We are all human beings. What a sad world.

who some of these people are and what they want. We fear because they come with baggage and demands, both monetarily and culturally. Are you following the situation in Europe? Why aren't the other Muslim countries taking them in? Sure we're all human beings, but there are reasonable limits, and it is not "racist" to say so.

The Nassau Presbyterian Church is not a business being paid to help a man who was blinded in the war, his wife, and four children. They are Christians volunteering and have been helping refugees resettle for 50 years. Read the story at NPR. Women and children are 78% of those that have sought our help. Is that not what we should do, as Christians?

...it can't be without limits, and it sure doesn't mean that you allow yourself to be taken advantage of.

I see this saccharine appeal to emotion all the time with respect to the refugee situation and it's always implied by these people that anyone who doesn't share their mushy Pollyanna notions on this subject is selfish or mean or "something-phobic".

Then, these superior beings seek to educate the rest of us ignorant boobs about the American tradition of welcoming refugees, and yet they seem to know little about the history themselves. They seem to believe (or want us to believe) that we've always welcomed immigrants without any restrictions or limits. Of course, this is completely untrue. America has NEVER had an "open-door" policy with regard to immigration. At different times, we've allowed none from some countries and imposed strict limits (quotas) on immigrants from other countries. To think anything else is to be ignorant of the facts.

And, in none of the do-gooders soupy hogwash is ever any acknowledgement made that this nation is in a state of war, that the enemy has literally boasted about their ability and intention to hide terrorists among "legitimate" refugees, and that the FBI believes they have already done so. The notion that we can tell them apart would be chokingly laughable if it weren't so dangerous.

And, there's never any discussion by these people about the peculiarly strident resistance of this specific refugee population regarding assimilation into American society. They dislike our culture, reject the American legal and political systems and refuse to cooperate with authorities. "We have our own laws," they say, "and we'll deal with our own crime etc."

To them I say, "Not in MY United States you won't."

Finally, there is the lack of transparency of this administration which legitimately gives rise to concerns about the process of admitting these refugees to the country. Communities have awoken one morning to find that large numbers have been settled without any notification to local authorities, without schools having any chance to prepare for the children, without consideration for the ability of other infrastructure such as healthcare, police and emergency services to deal with the added burden that they bring with them. Without any consideration of the impact on the local tax base.

Dump-'em-and-run...that's the Obama way. I think that Americans, especially those residing in the smaller communities where this has happened, have good reason to look askance at the process and to wonder if there isn't a better way.

So, Pollyanna. Cry me another one. Americans are as big-hearted as anyone on earth, even at our own cost, but stop suggesting that just because we refuse to be stupid and careless we must be bad people.

Even Christ admonished His followers: "Be wise as serpents, but gentle as doves." Translation: Just because you are Christian doesn't mean you should be an idiot.

Good works must be matched with discernment and wisdom, lest they become nothing more than a gateway and a means that evil people will swiftly pervert for their own purposes. The easiest person in the world to take advantage of is a muddle-headed do-gooder. I will never be persuaded by any emotional appeal that we can afford to become a muddle-headed nation.

Funny how most of them don't WANT to come here because they love their country, but this administration is insisting that they be uprooted from their homes and brought to a strange country.

Why? That's my question. What makes this administration feel they must force people to come if they don't want to and what makes this administration feel they need to rule the world?
