Keystone/TransCanada Ad

Posted: Mar 4, 2014

Talk about the fox guarding the hen house.  TransCanada is taking private property via eminent domain.  This is my country and my land.  What gives them the right to destroy my farm.  The line coming up from Texas has already had 14 spills.  This is nasty sludge not clean oil.  They are going over the Ogalala aquafier and wait until they contaminate that.  Their ad is disgusting, telling us how great this is for the economy.  That oil going to the refineries will be exported.  It is not for the US.

your question "What gives them the right?" That would be NAFTA and every trade policy since then. Heck, we've pulled that on countries also and companies have won money and have made countries change their laws because their laws hurt the business' profits. It's the American way. We allow stuff like this in our policies. There's a policy in the works that will bring more countries into the mix.

You are correct and it is daunting how many countries are operating here and taking their profits and running back home and putting nothing back.
They just form an American corporation where they hold the majority of shares through their subsidiaries and after they have milked the system, they file for corporate bankruptcy and start all over under another name. Pray for America. Of course, there a select few Americans who benefit.

We can thank Slick Willie for this one! - Ross Perot warned us.

Everyone laughed and no one believed him.

can thank George senior for that also. He drafted the agreement that was passed on to Clinton. Both sides have been selling us out.

According to link:

PEROT: [to Bush]: You implement NAFTA, the Mexican trade agreement, where they pay a dollar an hour, have no health care, no retirement, no pollution controls, etc., and you're going to hear a giant sucking sound of jobs being pulled out of this country. We don't have good trade agreements across the world.

BUSH: I am for the North American Free Trade Agreement. I think free trade is going to expand our job opportunity. I think it is exports that have saved us when we're in a recession. We need more free trade agreements.

CLINTON: I say it does more good than harm if we can get protection for the environment so that the Mexicans have to follow their own environmental standards, their own labor law standards, and if we have a genuine commitment to reeducate and retrain American workers who lose their jobs.
Sorry, Slick Willie still gets my blame. - sm

He didn't have to continue on with Bush's "draft." Perot was right!

to you who you want to blame, but I blame all politicians. Trade agreements under all presidents give our jobs away. Maybe people should stop trying to blame certain presidents or parties and start complaining to your congressmen, whatever party, about these trade agreements and try to get things done to improve them.

Yep, you are correct. They are all to blame. When I asked our Republican representative why he signed NAFTA and had he read it, he said he had not read it because it was "too long." Ye Gads, what do we have and what have we had in Washington looking out for our national sovereignty. Just sign on the dotted line so they do not have to bestir themselves to study the ramifications of such an agreement as NAFTA, et al.
You're both right. - I blamed Slick Willie,

but I agree with both of you now. We should revolt, especially those of us in this industry. And for the guy who didn't read NAFTA, just think of the ones who didn't read Obamacare, and remember what Nancy said. The same things keep happening.

Keystone Pipeline Not Using AmericanMar 04, 2017
I understand that the steel was already here for this pipeline, yet the president said the Keystone pipeline will not be build unless it is with American steel.  There were many on the right that were boasting about what he said and how great it woud be for American steelworkers.  It seems yet another promise broken by the conman.  Of course this is being twisted now but he did say the pipeline woud not be built unless with American steel. ...
