I would love to see Republicans start "caring" about women, Hispanics and gays, but how are they going to get that across while voting against these groups?
For example, how can the Republican party possibly get more gay votes when they continually shoot down gay marriage?
From the project:
The Republican Party needs to stop talking to itself. We have become expert in how to provide ideological reinforcement to like-minded people, but devastatingly we have lost the ability to be persuasive with, or welcoming to, those who do not agree with us on every issue.
Lovely verbage on this one, BTW:
As one conservative, Tea-Party leader, Dick Armey, told us, “You can’t call someone ugly and expect them to go to the prom with you. We’ve chased the Hispanic voter out of his natural home.
Reading this project, it looks like it's going to be an excellent time to be Hispanic in the Republican party--look for more prominent Hispanic leaderships in the near future (pg 16).
This should be interesting...we all know how much the right <3's the NAACP...
Establish a presence in African American communities and at black organizations such as the NAACP.
I haven't read the whole thing and will probably never get around to it, but I'd say I agree with *most* of it. I just don't understand how Republicans are going to do half of what they aspire when their policies won't support their efforts.
