Funny, isn't it?
Posted: Mar 4, 2010
I was just thinking how funny it is that the very same people who argue that the government shouldn't be in the bedroom ("gay marriage") have no objections whatsoever when it comes to inviting the government into the examining room ("healthcare").
Please notice that I said "funny"...not "astonishing". I've watched the Democrats play both sides of the street for way too many years to be astonished at any oxymoron they come up with.;
Yeah, kind of like saying you want the government - to stay out of our personal
[ In Reply To ..]
lives, keep government small, and then try to prohibit abortion. Funny, and pathetic.
Who died and made you the - referee? nm
[ In Reply To ..]
The only one unconscious around here (or should I say unconscience?) is the Democrats.
The brilliant logic behind her snappy comeback must have - flown right over your head.
[ In Reply To ..]
I posted a one-line nm message to show my appreciation. Don't try to make it into something more than that.
As for your allegoric wise-crack, you must be asleep at the wheel to have missed that concrete block on the right side of the aisle that mires the entire GOP party in a quagmire of self-imposed dysfunction.
From where I sit, that pretty much equates to unconscousness. Your boy Bunning also clearly illustrated the concept of lack of conscience as well, just 2 short days ago, an image that will be embedded in an acutely conscious electorate come election day.
If you think health reform - Taffie
[ In Reply To ..]
means the government will be in the examining room with you, I suggest further research so you understand what you are talking about. You could always have Bill friske diagnose you remotely.
So you make no distinction between human rights - and corporate entitlements? Or
[ In Reply To ..]
maybe in the aftermath of the SCOTUS decision, you think corps literally should have "rights."
So you think its a coporate entitlement to have the govt - involved in decisions about our health care?
[ In Reply To ..]
Sorry, I just don't agree with you. I agree with the OP. The democrats say government needs to stay out of our personal lives, yet they are okay with the government involved in our health care decisions (another personal life decision). I'm not sure what you mean by corporate entitlements. My decisions health care decisions should remain between my doctor and myself. Government should never be allowed to enter into these decisions.
Just like your relationship with your Creator . . . - Really?
[ In Reply To ..]
should have no place in government, yet Christians are constantly trying to legislate their beliefs into everyone else lives . . .
Okay, I do agree with you there - involved in decisions about our health care?
[ In Reply To ..]
Religion/spiritual believes should be kept to your own personal lives. Don't disagree with you there. Nothing more than I hate is people making laws/decisions based on their religious beliefs.
However, government does not belong in every aspect of our lives and health care is a personal decision between me and my doctor. I don't want to have to get approval from some congress person who has no medical training on what medication I can take or procedure I need to get.
Sorry...personal lives? Government stays out.
Just out of curiosity -- where do you get the idea . . . - Really?
[ In Reply To ..]
that some "congress person" is going to be making decisions on what medications or procedures you get? Can you back that up with facts?
Besides, you already got the filthy rich insurance companies already making those decisions for you -- so, I assume that's okay with you?
Page 30 and page 42 - involved in decisions about your health care?
[ In Reply To ..]
Page 30: A government committee will decide what treatments and benefits you get (and, unlike an insurer, there will be no appeals process)
Page 42: The "Health Choices Commissioner" will decide health benefits for you. You will have no choice. None.
OMG. You are taking info from a chain email? - Here is what the bill really says....
[ In Reply To ..]
RE: Your page 30 reference. The Health Choices commissioner will run the exchange, and that he or she will make sure that insurers are offering basic benefits and adhering to the regulations. Individuals then choose their own plan from offerings on the exchange. The health commissioner does not "decide health benefits for you." To the extent that insurance plans have to meet basic requirements, those instructions are ultimately coming from Congress. The commissioner executes the rules.
Re: Your page 42 reference refers to language in Section 142. That section outlines the duties of the Health Choices commissioner and explains that the commissioner should seek insurers to offer different types of insurance, including basic, enhanced and premium. Again, individuals will be able to choose among competing insurers that are regulated via the exchange.
The e-mail is adamant that the Health Choices commissioner "will decide health benefits for you. You will have no choice. None." That is not what the bill says. The bill envisions an exchange with several different plans, and people choosing their own plan.
Try reading the bill instead of viral chain-letter emails next time.

OMG. You are assuming - involved in decisions about your health care?

I typed in Google things like - what is in the health bill, health bill, health care, pelosi health care, democrats health bill, republicans health bill and all the references that came up I read. I have no idea what email you are talking about. I have no friends on my email list that I talk to about politics - that's how I keep and remain friends with them.
The bill is what I read. I'm sorry if its not your version of what you want people to know what's in there. Right now to be honest I have no idea what is in there, who is being truthful, who is not. I don't know if what you are telling me is truthful or what. All I can do is search every word I can think of in google and read what comes up. Maybe I should start using Bling to get different information. How do I know what I can trust and what I can't trust. All I know is both democrats and republicans are lying to us. All I can do is continue to read and listen and decide for myself what I think is right or wrong.
If your accusing me of reading some chain letter or email or whatever it is you think I might have read your wrong.
Here's some of what I've been reading:

Maybe you have some inside information on who is telling the truth and who is not. If so I'd be happy to hear, but please do not accuse me of reading stuff that I don't.
Viral email links are all over the net. Suppose you try - giving the one that gave you
[ In Reply To ..]
this info, or better still, copy and past the language of the bill and cite the section you claim to have read. I'm not that interested in what else you have been reading, but it is ridiculous to suggest that you found the info on huff post unless they were ridiculing the chain-email's pants-on-fire notions.
I will have to reply tomorrow - involved in decisions about your healthcare?
[ In Reply To ..]
I will reply tomorrow as right now my eyes are burning as I've been on the computer for over 12 hours now. I'm hungry and DH is getting ready to serve supper. I will reply tomorrow and post where it was I read what I read.
I also want to say that you went and accused me of reading something I didn't and when I posted the links to show what I have been reading you are now not interested.
I'm sorry but you were wrong to accuse me of reading some bogus email thing that evidently has been proven false and when I show you that I have not read that you now don't care.
I'm tired of all the false information out there. I will have to go back through my information and tomorrow can "copy and paste" where I read the info. Right now I've got to eat and get my eyes off the computer.
In case you have checked back, I just came back here for a sec - I dont have time right now - will respond tonight.
[ In Reply To ..]
when I finish. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten to respond, I just am swamped with work I've got to finish. Just want you to know I will respond and haven't forgotten.
Checked all links you posted and the only one - that even mentions...
[ In Reply To ..]
the health care commissioner is the frerepublic link. Every single thing they published came directly from the viral email. In other words, 50 lies.
Call the bill up on vote smare or washington watch. Go to the pages numbers given to you in the freerepublic link, then check them against the page numbers in the bill. This is not rocket science here. You will not find that language, because some anonymous person out there in the blogosphere made it up.
Point taken - Thanks - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
I didn't feel like writing that complete moniker out.
Point well taken. Maybe in what I read they received it from the email, but I did not see anything listed on the message that that is where they got their information.
I'm still searching. I am not done. If I've been wrong I will come back and say so. - I really am not an unreasonable person, only when people accuse me of doing something I didn't do (not talking bout you - just in general). Think you would react the same if people accused you of things without knowing for sure.
All I want is the truth. I don't trust either side, but I'm going to have to do lots of reading and make up my own mind on what I believe.
Thank you for clarifying .. I was getting ready to post the real deal... - Really?
[ In Reply To ..]
Once again, typical garbage being passed off as some sort of fact . . . so pathetic
Guess you just ignored my message - I said I did not take from an email
[ In Reply To ..]
When you don't want to hear something you just ignore it. Let me repeat....I did not take from some email you are talking about. None of my friends email me political stuff. That is how I remain friends with them.
I keep trying to get back to post a longer post but am swamped with work right now.
However, I don't think you are interested in the truth. You would just like to keep repeating the lie that I received some email.
I assure you I did not, but am sure you didn't even care to read my message showing what links I have been reading.
But go on...now it makes me wonder even if I do post where I read it whether or not you would care. You still would continue to make up stuff.
I was going to respond later when I finish work. I still may, but after reading your post unsure at this moment. Tired of the childish posts and games you play.
I am puzzled by your post. - Could you please
[ In Reply To ..]
clarify how you think HCR is going to interefere with personal life decisions between you and your doctor?
Yes, I would like to know this too. nm - Sick Of It~

Funny, But Serious. Nov 16, 2009The 10 Differences Between Fox News and MSNBC

Fox News fans defend their network's journalistic integrity by pointing to high ratings and MSNBC as the liberal equivalent. While the comparison may seem valid on the surface, there are glaring differences between the two networks.
