Diddums oo get ur widdle feelings hurted?

Posted: Dec 22, 2015

So, the new national pasttime in America is being offended.  (Some college students were just offended by the song "White Christmas".)

When this happens, fill out a Butthurt Complaint Form and we'll get right on it.  See link.

I disliked your post-rude, crude and uninformative - Still don't know what it is about

Agreed. There is no need to use such stupidity - to express an opinion. nm

Or, to characterize a post you don't like as - "stupidity"??

It's so amusing when people use the very tactics they decry within a post decrying those same things. This is called oxymorons on the hoof.

Zoomed right past you, did it? - File a complaint.

The point was tongue-in-cheek, but - hardly mysterious.

I'll explain it. Everybody these days is getting their feelings hurt or being offended about something - mostly, stupid or inconsequential things. This has come to be known as "butthurt", and now someone has jokingly created a complaint form for sensitive flowers who get their feelings hurt.

Got it now?

Students protesting White Christmas - was SATIRE,

A PARODY. NOT REAL. It was a commentary on the overliberalization of our colleges.

The exercise was satire. The students signing was - not.

White Christmas petition - was satire!

No need to get your panties in a wad over it.

What if it was? It's still making the same point. - Satire has a purpose, you do realize?

The fact that the point is made by way of satire rather than declarative or exegetical analysis makes no difference.

Thanks for underlining my point, though!

Although these videos are satire, they also show the sad state of academia - anon

in the US. Students appear to be stupid, mindless followers who have no idea how to think for themselves, and who just swallow whatever soundbite the liberal medial throws out. Safe spaces is the most ridiculous, pointless concept out there. I mean - how are these "students" going to handle the real world when (if) they graduate? Sickening commentary of where this country is heading. Thank goodness my kids aren't special snowflakes and can handle opposing opinions and views. Then again, hubs and I were smart enough to teach them.

Maybe this went above the heads. Academia can be sort of deep thinkers. White Christmas--meaning white privilege that can afford the type of Christmas with all the trimmings that 'ole Bing was referring to. Not too much of a stretch really that people might oppose the promotion of this nowadays, since so many are suffering economically, socially and politically.

Or, if you prefer, just dwell on Snow. None of that either. Climate Change is here. We had brown mud Christmas--almost always a nice white dusting at least. Nope, not this time. 70 degrees and in shirt sleeves Christmas Eve. Welcome to climate change.

Brown and 70 degrees here in northern Vermont too. sm - VTMT

We usually have quite a bit more than a dusting by now. El Nino is blamed but el nino is caused by global warming.

Yeah, don't you like how they gloss over the - global warming and say El Nino

Like it is just some normal weather phenomenon, nothing to see here. Everything will be back to normal. Yeah sure. Earthquakes from fracking. Fires from drought. Flooding from so much rain in the Midwest. And swim suits while Christmas shopping in New York. I couldn't even get a good vibe going for buying a sweater for anyone for Christmas!

Would This Hurt Your Feelings Just A Little ?Oct 03, 2010
My sis-in-law (my husband's twin's wife) and we have just loved this baby girl to death.  I buy clothes, jammies, make her hairbows on cute little headbands, a jacket, etc, I took off work to take my sis in law to the doctor for her 2 week checkup after having the baby when she couldn't drive.  I checked on her when hardly nobody else did.  She doesn't have a mom or dad.  I would pick something up if she needed it and take it to her.  Her husband even ...

This is not exclusively political, but since it pertains to current national events, I am posting here.  I am interested in hearing any and all thoughts/feelings/ideas/frustrations regarding the Gulf oil disaster.    I myself am stunned that we have been unable to prevent the oil from making land-fall.  I am not a babe in the woods, but I do believe that America brings huge resources to the table in terms of brain power and horse power.       ...
